    Speaker size in CX-5 2017?

I see you have a 2017, which I had. Were you trying to use the PAC at the head unit or at the TAU beside the glove box in upper passenger kick panel? That's where I went. Head unit just sends the signals back and forth to the TAU. I also had a base stereo model / non-bose.

TAU - Tuner Amplifier Unit, Location & Details?

Only because that's what I could get locally and for a better price than ordering online shipped to be from the US (I'm in Canada). It was OK. Didn't work wonders but did help - especially at lower volume levels. At higher volume levels it just started tripping all over itself. If you go in...

    2018-2019 Mazda6 Cabin Noise

I had a 2010 3 - brutal noise, wind and tire noise. Went to a 2017 3 hatch. Much better on summer tires. Still noisy on winter tires (that's a given). Had twins, traded my 3 hatch in for a minivan. Took over my wife's 2017 CX-5. Was much quieter than the 3. Way quieter than I was expecting...

    Navigation SD Card Disappointment

You can copy the card and run the infotainment on a backup card as long as the backup is made after the OEM card is registered and linked to the vehicle (happens at around 100km driving with the card installed). Do the updates on the original card thru Mazda Toolbox app. When complete close the...

2019 CX5 Rear Shock Absorber Extender

Totally get what you're saying and ya, that's an issue with this type of kit if they aren't fully complete. I had an old suzuki sidekick we did a similar lift on, on-the-cheap. There were two options for the rear shocks: rotate the shock mounting tabs from below the axle to the top (involved...

    2017~2024 CX-5 Auto lighting issue

No, it's identical in operation and that's exactly what I was trying to say. I had a '17 3 GT, '17 CX-5 and now my '18 6, all with i-active sense and they have all been identical in operation. OP said he needed the stalk forward for auto headlights to work and he doesn't. He just needs the...

    Disable inbuilt navigation prompts

Yes, unfortunately the NAV guidance sound setting is shared with the android auto sounds. I found this out the other day when I actually used inbuilt nav and the voice commands were driving me insane. For a quick change you can adjust or mute the volume at any time a prompt is occurring. I of...

    2017~2024 CX-5 Auto lighting issue

HBC relies on the forward sensing camera for operation. If the forward sensing camera is compromised by anything, for example a rain storm, operation of anything relying upon the forward sensing camera can be compromised. This includes high beam control, low speed radar cruise control, emergency...

Preview some elements of the future electric CX in Mazda's first EV, the MX-30

I was kinda hoping Mazda's first EV / PHEV / Range extender vehicle would be more "normal" than going somewhat quirky EV. A dedicated platform is a nice touch though. I'm sure it will be a great city car but I need real back seat / real back doors and a normal-ish trunk. That CX-30 test mule...

    Errors from morning frost/condensation

MRCC is only disabled below 20mph because at the lower speeds the cameras are used where the radar is used at higher speeds. The camera is also for LDW and lane keep assist, emergency braking - which is the second error. The camera enclosure is not air tight. What you're experiencing is normal...

2016~2023 Looking for opinions on front wheel vs all wheel drive for 2016 CX9

Funny how the Canadians agree. I'd say AWD may be nice to have, but isn't a requirement. If you were OK with FWD in your previous CX5 there isn't much reason you won't be fine in the bigger CX9. Only difference maybe will be the added torque with the added weight, contributing to wheelspin a...

Upgrading my 2019 Grand Touring with Active Driving Display

Pretty cool it's plug and play! Sorry I haven't ripped my dash apart in this one.

Rear Cross Traffic Alert - where is sensor located?

He didn't have to replace that harness. If it's the same housing the bulbs and holders could've popped right into the new housing. Oh well, what's done is done. The tail light harness connection in vehicle is indeed behind the plastic panels either side. If that's the only area he was it still...

Upgrading my 2019 Grand Touring with Active Driving Display

I'm curious of the costs of all these bits and pieces. I had seen someone do similar on a Mazda3 somewhere in my travels. They did require some reprogramming of the car's computer "as-built" data for the car to recognize it had a HUD and offer up the adjustability options in infotainment.
