Thanks - the battery is new, just replaced last week. I think it's the key fob. If I strategically press in the middle of the credit card fob, the red light flashes and then I can turn the ignition without inserting the physical key. So...loose connection somewhere, perhaps.

Thanks! Something else I noticed is that accelerating from 1st to road speed, like 30 mph, the engine revs really high before switching to 4th gear. 4000 or more. Could that be caused by wheel speed sensor malfunction?

We replaced the rear wheel bearings in my 2007 Mazda CX9 AWD. To make a 5 hour long story short, the wheel bearings didn't come out smoothly, and the new ones didn't fit on smoothly either. We had to use a lot of force to get those things on and off, and hammer had to be deployed occasionally...
