I ran off after the last post to go look for the idle air control valve but can't yet find it. Still looking... I found the MAF sensor and cleaning now with rubbing alcohol. Please let me know which sprocket you're talking about, and what's the TB and how I adjust it; up/down etc? am...

I will check the MAF, which I think is the same thing as "air control valve"? The idling ramps up at times, real high, and will dip but revving will continue. Yes, this tends to happen more often with the ac on. And if, as it revs, I put it on park (it's automatic) it ramps/revs up even higher.

When my Protoge, 1999, 1.6, lx, is warmed up and I am in stop and go traffic, the engine revs up and won't operate normally; it surges forward even with my foot on the brakes. If it's not hot, 70+F, this does not happen. The rest of the time it is fine. Any thoughts you fine folks can offer...

I was trying to install another head-unit and now there's no power from audio, inside lights won't come on as well. I checked all the fuses I can remove, not the ones with the black tops, and they are all OK. This is a 1999 LX. Help, please.

Can someone please post of picture of this "restore" or, post its complete name or manufacturer's homepage or name. "Restore" is such a strange name for a car product.

Trying to change the original head unit on a Mazda Protoge LX 1999. Reading the service manual, it mentions that two SSTs are needed to remove the radio; what are those, are they really needed? Cheers.

Thanks for helping out! 99' Protoge LX. I need to replace the front sway bar links. I've managed to cut the old ones off. Now to put the new one in. Once I put it in, it seems longer. It looks like the strut needs to be raised or the other end lowered. I'm sure someone here has done this job...
