    Help identifying these cars

those are 2006 or newer GTI's (a.k.a. MkV as previously stated) with a few body treatments (aftermarket kits), bigger wheels and some tailpipe modifications...that is all. I stare at these all day at the VW/Mazda dealership I work at.

My Mazdaspeed Protege (MSP) currenet issues

Another thing to possibly consider is the vacuum line going to the wastegate actuator is collapsing on itself under the heavy throttle/high rpm (think of a drinking straw when you suck on it too hard). That would cause the boosting problems and what seems like fuel cut (suddenly no boost, the...

Really bad hesitation around 4k Rpms

yes and no...a faulty MAF sometimes can set a fault code but not trigger the actual "check engine" light - sometimes they don't even set a fault, it depends on how it failed and what it's actually doing.

    NM People!!

Nope, I retract my previous statement - went by while running errands a few minutes ago - definitely not Tanner's car. Different wheels and a non-stock disgusting looking rear spoiler - and still asking $11,650!! As much as I love the MSP, I would not pay near that much for that specific car...

    NM People!!

I do remember that! It was also nice to see someone who didn't think my car was a Matrix or Vibe or some other crap.

    NM People!!

    That's probably Tanner's old car.

    NM People!!

Really! I'm in the same area. Also, I talked to Tanner a few months ago, he sold his MSP! I did some work on it for him (faulty thermostat and turbo oil return gasket leaking) Not sure what he replaced it with, but one more MSP trades hands.

Where did you buy your Tokico Illuminas?

I bought my set of 4 Illuminas from Steve at NSN Motorsports. Awesome to deal with and great pricing. Honestly I can't remember how much I paid so I'm not sure if the jdmwerks place is cheaper or not.

    P5 1.8 coil swap project

the 94 626 valve cover will not work with 2.0L in the Pro5's. The valve cover I am using is from a 2001 626 to give you a reference. I don't think the FS-DE 2.0L goes back to 1994 but someone please correct me if I'm wrong because I know the FS-DE was used in several different cars.

    P5 1.8 coil swap project

That's the exact setup I'm putting together now. I am putting the finishing touches on the new valve cover (wrinkle red finish) and then everything will be installed. NGK wires for 1.8L from NGK.com, coils from NAPA, and a 626/Probe valve cover bought used here on the forums. I'm not...

Better PCV Valve Solution For Low Boost Applications

Aha! That's what it was. It is currently residing comfortably on the car with the top trim body match painted and the emblem was modded a little bit. Man that was a while back, at least it seems that way.
