Motor dies / cam pos error 20 miles after water pump replace

It might be worth looking into the CrankShaft Position Sensor. I had an on going issue where my motor would die, it went on for a while before it just totally died and would crank but no start. I would sometimes get the Camshaft Position Sensor code, which I have read is a "catch all" code and...

Did brakes now the front is wearing alot faster and i have no e brake ????

I believe this. Mechanics not properly installing my P5s rear brakes was a big part of me doing all my own work on my cars. I only go to a repair show for alignments and tire mounting. Every time I had my rear brakes done by a shop, they said my rear calipers were seized, because they didnt...

Did brakes now the front is wearing alot faster and i have no e brake ????

I had a similar experience when adjusting my rears, it took a few times to get them right. As for the OP's uneven wear issue, I'd bet money that it is wearing more in the front due to the rears' pistons not being adjusted. The rear may not even be braking at all.

I put a red arrow pointing to the bolt with the copper gasket that you need to remove to get to the adjuster. The adjuster is loose inside, and it might come out with your hex/Allen wrench. I think it is clockwise to push in the piston, and counter-clockwise to release it. But, I am not 100%...

I don't have a purse, but it is probably somewhere in between. It shouldn't be too hard to turn, you could probably do it with a driver. I am not anywhere near my P5 right now, but I will try to find a picture for you.

If you can't figure it out, I can upload some pictures.

There is a bolt on the backs of the calipers. IIRC, it has a copper gasket on it. You remove that, and inside the hole is the adjuster, you a hex/allen wrench to tighten down the piston, it helps if you have some one spin the tire while tightening. When the tire stops spinning, and cannot...

Loosing power while driving around an hour, comes and goes

I had an issue that was much, much worse than yours, but it started out by losing power while cruising down the interstate. At the beginning it felt like the car was losing power and I had to floor the pedal just to keep it from dropping too much. Then it would just fix itself. It got a lot...

    2002 P5 roof rack

I must be missing something, I removed my cross bars without removing the headliner. Unless the OP also means the rails. I think the rail removal involves dropping the headliner, but just the cross bars does. To the OP: does the potential buyer want the rails too? or does he still have the...

    Intermitted Power Loss, Please Help!

I was thinking the same thing. I figured if the timing belt is an issue, my P5 would be running like a turd all the time. Actually, it was one of my questions in the thread early on.

    Intermitted Power Loss, Please Help!

A few months ago, I replaced my very old K&N filter with a cheap eBay cone filter. Actually it was an Injen filter that came with their cold air intake system. It was so old, and starting to fall apart, I don't think it would have survived another cleaning. Maybe I might re-invest in a nice...

    Intermitted Power Loss, Please Help!

BTW, I have the 5 speed trans. I guess I could check out a few things to improve my fuel economy, but it is still much, much better than my Dodge Ram, and a little better than my Turbo MR2. So, I am saving money by having my P5 back again. As for the list: I just changed the Air Filter, and...

    Intermitted Power Loss, Please Help!

This is true. The early symptoms my P5 was having could have been many different things. Just look at the size of this thread and all the potential culprits of the symptoms. If I would have gotten the crank CEL, then this thread probably would have not existed.

    Intermitted Power Loss, Please Help!

I'm not saying it is good, but it fits within the EPA estimates. I think that it improved a lot after putting the JDM motor in a few years ago, the would probably be around 25-26 since then, but the last few fill ups have been lower than usually, since I started driving it again. Maybe...
