    Aftermarket Stereo in 2012 5!

The Scosche kit was pretty good quality, I just didn't like the styling. I got the Connects2 kit from eBay. It is a replica of the Euro dash bezel with the double-din option. It's more expensive but quality was top notch. It was designed for a double din though, so I had a little extra work...

    Aftermarket Stereo in 2012 5!

Yeah, the kit had a pocket option but I didn't install it. I'm planning on adding a set of eGauges (OBDII-style) later on, so i cut a piece of ABS and just made a smooth filler plate for now. The idea is to make a custom bezel for the gauges later on. Agree a nice double DIN would have fit...

    Aftermarket Stereo in 2012 5!

I put the crossover in the space under the armrest area. That was the only reasonable spot. I made a little bracket out of a piece of sheet metal to hold it. The tweeters fit well with no filing using the Polk flush mount tweeter cup. I did wind up buying the flat sail panel with no factory...

2012 Mazda 5 Sport Nav - no power folding mirrors. Really?

Sounds reasonable. I just remember looking for the UK bezel for a double din radio and saw the Mazda UK literature showed some Pioneer units as optional. May just be a dealer installed option. Either way, I ordered the Connects2 bezel for mine and installed a Kenwood unit.

    Aftermarket Stereo in 2012 5!

Alright, so got this done, finally! Installed a Kendwood KDCBT952HD deck in my 2012 Mazda5 Sport. Comes with rear USB port and bluetooth mic. Also replaced factory components in doors with Polk DX 5-1/4" components and rear hatch speakers with Polk DX 5x7s. Stereo sound is awesome! Right...

2012 Mazda 5 Sport Nav - no power folding mirrors. Really?

Looking into a head unit swap for my 2012 Sport, I found some info that showed the optional UK Nav stereo is actually a Pioneer double-din unit running TomTom software. So it's actually pretty nice. You can buy on Crutchfield for about $700. Part number is AVIC-X940BT.

MX-5 GT Wheels on the 5

Tires are super quiet, and don't groan around corners like the stock 16 inch Turanzas mine had. Tirerack has them rated consistently at the top for road noise and comfort. So far really loving them. Also look a lot better now that I washed it! :)
