    New (used) 2016 CX-5 - had a couple questions/concerns!

Good to know. Thanks! Seems like getting 19 MPG could be normal if the conditions are right. Advertised city MPG is 24, 2 MPG less for really cold weather, and 2 or 3 MPG less for really short trips, and you all of a suddend are getting 19 MPG in a car you thought you'd get 24ish in.

    New (used) 2016 CX-5 - had a couple questions/concerns!

You're right, but I sure was hoping to save some money on gas rather than it come out even. But thanks everyone for the info. Seems like I just need to wait a few months and see how the gas mileage does in a range of conditions before assuming I have a problem. Seems like the last two weeks...

    New (used) 2016 CX-5 - had a couple questions/concerns!

I'm in Charlotte NC. The last week has been the coldest week we've had in a long time (never got above freezing). Since I just bought the car two weeks ago, I don't really have a warm weather week to compare the gas mileage to. So cold weather is definitely having an effect, but I just don't...

    New (used) 2016 CX-5 - had a couple questions/concerns!

My previous car was a 2014 Subaru WRX 5-speed and stock. It is advertised as getting 19city/25hwy. On my average week, which includes a lot of 3-5 mile trips in the city and a few highway drives to the other side of the city, I would average 21 MPG. That's right where I would expect it to be...

    New (used) 2016 CX-5 - had a couple questions/concerns!

That's really interesting that the MPGs go up by 3-5 when driving only an extra 3-5 miles. It's like the car is punishing you for living too close to work! I found another thread on fuel economy that also had a few owners getting in the 19mpg range, so I guess my concern is fairly common.

    New (used) 2016 CX-5 - had a couple questions/concerns!

I am a mechanical engineer, I understand averages and MPG calculations pretty well. I also understand that my daily commute is not one that will reflect good MPGs. But like I said, my last car was getting above the advertised MPGs, and the CX-5 is getting 20% less than advertised.....both cars...

    New (used) 2016 CX-5 - had a couple questions/concerns!

I'm a new CX-5 owner. 2016, automatic, AWD. I do a lot of short (less than 5 miles) stop and go commutes in the city with traffic and traffic lights every few blocks, with a few longer (20ish mile) highway drives per week. I am averaging 19MPG according to the car!! (I have not calculated it...

    loud heat/air from windshield vent

yeah when I have it on fan speed 2 it isn't loud, but when I turn it up to 3 or more on the feet only setting, the air coming out of the defrost vents is really loud. Just trying to find out if it is normal or not.

    loud heat/air from windshield vent

I understand how defrost works. My question is for when defrost is OFF and you have manually selected to have the heat come out at your feet only. In this scenario, should any air be coming out of the defrost vents? For me, some air does come out of the defrost vents, and it is very noisy.

    loud heat/air from windshield vent

Hello everyone, I'm brand new here, and brand new to the CX-5. I bought a CPO 2016 CX-5 CT AWD a couple of days ago. So far, I really like the car. One thing I have noticed is when I have the heat on the feet setting, air still gets blown out of the windshield vents and it is very loud. It...
