Is the wiper normally supose to work even with the hatch opened? Ive never notice before but if someone could try it and answer this it would give me a good start

Ive tried that workaround but even after opening the hatch and closed it with the wiper OFF, it wouldnt work after .. What I do now is when I get it to work I just dont open the hatch again .. have to put grocery bags on rear seats lol
