    Maddening shifting issue - 2012 Mazda5 with 6-speed manual

Thanks for the discussion. Right now if I preload the shifter to the right while still in 4th gear, it will go into 5th almost normally when I make the shift. Forget to do this and I might get locked out of the horizontal shift lane and have to put it back in 4th and try again. I'm managing...

    Maddening shifting issue - 2012 Mazda5 with 6-speed manual

Thanks for responding. Do you ever experience it going from 2 to 3? No. How about down shifting from 5 to 4? No How about double clutching 4 to 5? No The transmission goes into each gear just fine. The problem is moving the shifter laterally from the central vertical shifting "lane" (3-4)...

    Maddening shifting issue - 2012 Mazda5 with 6-speed manual

I have a 2012 Mazda 5 sport with 6-speed manual transmission, just rolled 105k miles. Over the past few months I've been having issues with the manual transmission, specifically moving the shifter laterally from the 3-4 shift gate to the 5-6 shift gate. It's not so much an issue of the shifter...

    Mushy brake pedal (2006 Mazda5)

Having same issue - update? Just had a similar thing happen on our 2012 Mazda 5 Sport. Heading to stealership on Monday. Suspect the master cylinder but would like as much info as possible going into it. JMJ

    Great Tires

Interesting - I have Yokohama 580's on our 5 Sport and just rolled past 30k on these tires. They seem to be wearing fine (even and not too fast), but I'm not fond of them - they produce a mildly annoying whine at intermediate speeds (30-45mph or so). Performance is fine, but I've never had this...

    6-speed manual, reverse lockout broken

update - I had the shifter mechanism replaced with a new assembly from MazdaSwag. They had the best price when shipping is taken into account. JMJ

Shudder on braking - 2012 Mazda 5 sport

Update - I had my local service place (not Mazda dealer) replace my shifter mechanism and turn the front rotors. No mure shuddering! Still enough thickness on the rotors, so I will monitor this and replace rotors next time. JMJ

    Roof Rack Question

I have a set of INNO bars on our 2012 Mazda5 Sport. Attaches to the hardpoints. Works well, quick to install, and very inexpensive over the Thule or OEM equivalent. JMJ

    Homelink / Compass Mirror Compatability 2009 / 2015

I'm thinking of adding an autodim mirror to our 2012 M5 Sport. I'm hoping there is a connector already installed up by the map lights - anyone know for sure? Thanks - JMJ

New garage-mate for our Mazda 5. Sorry - not a Mazda

and the 9-5 is gone I just sold my 9-5 wagon. Posted it on CL on Friday and had 4 respondents within 2 hours. It rolled out of my driveway about 2 hours ago (Sunday). Well, here's to the new wagon. JMJ

New garage-mate for our Mazda 5. Sorry - not a Mazda

TonyC, The 9-3 is smaller than the 9-5, but the rear seat fits my 3 kids without complaint right now, configured like I do. In the 9-5, it was also snug, but I had the carseat in the middle, secured with the seatbelt instead of LATCH anchors. Now the carseat is behind the driver & secured with...

New garage-mate for our Mazda 5. Sorry - not a Mazda

Secondtyme, I'd like to keep it, but only have garage & driveway space for 2 cars. If it was a pickup truck, then I'd keep it, but I can do pretty much everything with the 9-3 that I needed the 9-5 to do. It gave many smiles per mile, that's for sure. A real joy on long swooping 270 on/off...

New garage-mate for our Mazda 5. Sorry - not a Mazda

Thanks Chris. My kids are 3, 6, and 8. I have the carseat behind the driver, booster is behind the front passenger. 6 & 8 year olds can both buckle their seatbelts unassisted, so win-win. This is my 4th Saab. Probably my last daily-driver Saab for sure. Footnote - I see you're in Brooklyn...
