CX-5 GTR would've been the perfect car for me if it had slightly more rear passenger space, slightly cheaper, and had a panoramic sunroof (not asking for much here Mazda!).

Op here. After about a month of having my XT, I have no complaints about the CVT. I have enjoyed driving the XT, with the exception of driving on very curvy roads. My CX-5 used to carve these roads up in the past with no problem, but in my XT, I really have to take it slow and drive cautiously...

Because Motor Trend is one of the most influential automotive publications? I agree that people should just buy what they like though. For some of us, including myself, what we bought may have resulted in some regret, but articles like this will influence potential buyers in a substantial way.

Take as long as you can. Seems like the comfortability of the seat is very important to you, as well as personal "feel." Just spend lots of time in each one.
