I have been very lucky so far with my 2016 cx-9. I have a tendency to wait until the fuel is very low, usually near 0 mile left sometimes 20 miles below 0, before refill the tank. What you guys mentioned about the potential fuel sender failure is really a wake up call to me. Thank you.

The connector may hide behind the interior trim. According to the attached picture, it is not far from where the mirror cable goes into the trim.

The owner's manual clearly stated that front acc socket is on only when the ignition switch is at ACC or ON, while the rear socket is always on. Make sure you locate the right fuse, or you can tap from the front socket directly.

I would tap from the cigarette socket at the passenger foot well. It has a 15A fuse.

Tightening torque 15*20 Nm {1.6*2.0 kgfm, 12*14 ftlbf}

Nothing is actually broken really. It proves how easy the commander switch can be removed (and installed). It sits in the front console all with clips and tabs.

If you take $100/hr labor into count, $498 is not too far off. I ordered the kit online for $163.66 and spent 4 hours to install it.
