Best way to reinstall Stretch Fit A/C Belt?

The gates tool was a little small for our application. I discovered this after i bought it while trying to install the belt. I ended up using it anyway. I think I made a spacer so it would line up with the holes in the pulley.

Anyone running a Magnaflow catback exhaust on their 5?

So far the new exhaust is holding up well. The other frustrating thing, aside from connecting it to the stock exhaust, was that it didn't come with an exhaust tip. Trying to find one that fit the odd size exhaust was a little difficult, but I modified one from a local part store to fit.

Anyone running a Magnaflow catback exhaust on their 5?

I took the car to an exhaust shop hoping they would fab up something for me in stainless. They were unwilling, but they were willing to throw on a walker setup for something like $400. I talked to my wife about it, and decided I could buy a whole lot of cheap systems for what the really nice...

Anyone running a Magnaflow catback exhaust on their 5?

Ok. It's not what I wanted to hear, but thank you for the info. I will look into other options. I looked at it today, and everywhere there was a welded attachment (heat shield, brace, etc.) added to the exhaust, there is an exhaust leak. I counted 5 leaks from after the 2nd cat/muffler...

    Bottom end? Need opinions

Specifically their intake manifolds and heads, but it depends upon the application as Ford has many engines dubbed eco-boost.

Anyone running a Magnaflow catback exhaust on their 5?

I have been looking for a suitable and durable exhaust replacement for our Mazda5. The oem pipe after the flex is starting to go where the support bracket is welded to it (where the bend is close to 90 degrees), and the tailpipe/muffler is also very rusty. No fumes inside the cabin so far, but...

    Bottom end? Need opinions

Given the issues that Ford has had with eco-boost, are you sure that it's a deal breaker? I'm quite satisfied with naturally aspirated performance and reliability in a daily driver.

    Bottom end? Need opinions

I admire the honesty and wit in your email. As someone who has experienced much of what you experienced, I admit I am frustrated as well. It seems all car companies are making crap and leaving consumers to sift through the garbage as they cram their crappy products down our throat. It's not...

    Bottom end? Need opinions

That is even better still. The tensioner has a left hand threaded bolt and it is a fairly fragile casting, so be careful when you release the tension to remove the belt. Once it is off, spin and wiggle those pulleys and find the offending bearing. If it is in the A/C compressor, you will...

    DIY clutch adjustment/replacement

Wow that's alot of miles. I would say if it is original, the likelihood of necessity for a replacement of your clutch is high. However, There is probably one thing you can try first to determine what's up. I would try and bleed the clutch before I would condemn it. I am not certain, but it...

How does the carrier bearing look on the long cv axle underneath? Does it look discolored like it is getting hot? Also, is there any difference in difficulty pushing in the clutch pedal? I am going to assume it is a hydraulic slave cylinder unit like the one in my Fusion. There could be a...

    2007 exhaust flex pipe broken

I welded everything up at work and it turned out pretty nice. I tig welded the stainless pieces for the pacesetter setup and mig welded the galvanized steel hanger to the steel EXD part. I put the catted exhaust manifold on her 5, added my flanged flex pipe, and away we went! The whole thing...

    2007 exhaust flex pipe broken

Well, Sunday I got a little frustrated with the wait and decided to cut the Pacesetter setup to accept the flanges with the best measurements that I could come up with. I took my Coplay Norstar M200-M welder down into the basement to weld them up and literally plugged everything in for the...

    2007 exhaust flex pipe broken

I was able to modify the flanges to accept a 4.125 bolt spacing, but it took a lot of time with a carbide reamer and a rotary file in my cordless drill. It made the edge of the flange really thin, but they should still work. I am a little discouraged right now because I drove my car up on a...

    2007 exhaust flex pipe broken

Well, the flanges that came are incorrect. I was wary of the universal, and didn't like the slotted holes to begin with, however, this was my fault as I incorrectly measured the center to center for the flange. It is supposed to be 4.125 inches. I had quickly measured it at 4" and now realize...
