Wasn't much fun. My son is driving my truck & his Mazda is parked behind my Camaro.
Another point of interest is you need to know the production date because some of the Mazda 3's were made with a different ABS connector. I guess it changed locations. The ABS connector I had was on the...
Just getting done replacing steering knuckle & hub on my sons Mazda 3. He drove it "WAY" to long an totally FUBARed the whole thing. It was an easy job until I got to the pinch bolt/lower ball joint. I got the nut off the bolt easy but the bolt would not come out even with hammering it with a...
You need to find out what the belt is rubbing on. I don't think the tensioner is at fault as it just pushes the belt inward. But also having a weak tensioner isn't a good thing either. I'd leave the timing belt covers off an start it up an give it some rpms an watch what's happening. Then again...
Using a cooler thermostat, instead of a 180 or 190 try using a 170
Using slightly thicker shims under the came lobs. This makes the valve open wider, but their is danger in doing this. You really need to know the distance between the top of the piston an the valve when open. Don't know if its...
I ended up using a long head bolt from a Chevy S-10. I had to drill a hole in the bottom of the mount using a 7/16 drill bit then drilled thru the rubber on top. I used 3 big washers at the bottom of the mount because the bolt was going to be to long. Their is a steel plate with a stud thru it...
I have a 98 Protege 1.5 engine with a broken pass. side motor mount. I haven't taken it off yet but after fondling it yesterday their seems to be a steel plate with a hole in it on the bottom of the mount. The mounting bolt on top broke out of the rubber an left a divot in the rubber about 1/2...
3 places to check out would be the battery, starter & alternator wiring, you may have a wire that's touching the frame or has been burned an is grounding to the frame. Might have to pull the battery out to check the pos. wire.
