    Metal bumper stepping plate

You have a point. Plus I still prefer the clean look of the bumper without the stepping plate.

    Metal bumper stepping plate

I will try to see if there is anything better that's custom designed for the 5 like those door sills we've seen. If I can't find any then I will have to go for the black plastic ... or maybe I can paint it in white LOL

    Metal bumper stepping plate

Yes, it's just personal taste / preference. The car is white and I prefer silver on white than black on white.

    Metal bumper stepping plate

Yeah ... I was hoping there might be aftermarket ones that are made of metal. I know there are door sills that are made of brushed stainless steel / aluminum ... just can't find one for the bumper stepping plate.

    Metal bumper stepping plate

Has anyone seen / installed a metal stepping plate on their bumper? Somehow I have the impression of seeing it somewhere before but I can't remember exactly ... Never thought of the need until some idiot stepped on my bumper when loading / unloading cargo and scratched it big time. It's nice...

    WTB: Rear Under Mirror

I'm sure the aftermarket ones are much cheaper than the OEM one from JDM Mazda. How are they holding up against touchless carwash? I may pick one up myself if they are durable as they seem to look pretty neat judging from the photos that some of you have posted (2thumbs)

    Thinking about plunging again

Merely trying to suggest a possible cause to help diagnose the problem ... if I sounded like I was making a comparison between the 2 brands or complaining about the quality of the Mazda 5, that wasn't my intention at all.(eekdance)

    Thinking about plunging again

I'm not very familiar with the Mazda 5 schematics but what you've experienced was common among previous generation of some Honda vehicles. We had a 98 Accord EX V6 and the entire electrical system (including fuel injection) would shut down once in a while and the car would stall momentarily...

Does your service department suck this bad?

Here is the link to the other thread Basically, the dealer routed the wiring to the wrong side of the kick panel, spliced it to 2 different wires incorrectly (did not taped it up afterwards) and broke a plastic clip inside the A-pillar trim. When I received the car (brand new), the compass...

Does your service department suck this bad?

I stopped servicing my cars at the dealers unless it is free of charge or absolutely necessary (e.g. TBS, recall, free oil change). These people claim that they know your car best but on the contrary, the truth is often far from that. The VW dealer near where I live failed to resolve issues on...

    Mazda 5 Break-In Period Question

Like someone said earlier, engine break-in by owner is usually not required for most passenger vehicles manufactured these days. Some high performance cars even have their engine broken in at the factory. Here is what the owner's manual says for the 2008 N.A. Mazda 5.

Anyone in GTA thankful they got winter tires?

And you don't need me to tell you the accident this morning that completely shut down westbound 401 at Mavis. A pickup truck spun off on an icy section on the highway and hit a tractor-trailer backwards ...

    Floor mat holder

You're right, but it would be nice if they had taken advantage of this extra anchor when they designed the passenger's side floor mat ...

Anyone in GTA thankful they got winter tires?

I usually spend 2.5-3 hours on commute every day and I have been using winter tires in the past 10 years or so. Everyone I spoke with who have switched to winter tires agree that once you've switched, you won't be going back to all-season because you will then realize the differences they make...
