Hey, thanks for the heads up on this!

    Is that an oil leak?

I would never consider buying a rental car. Those things quite often are ridden hard and put away wet. I'm sure the rental company will adhere to the minimum level of maintenance, but is that really what you want for your personal vehicle?

Bought a 2016 cx5 touring CPO - Already have an issue

If they balanced the wheels and tires and you're still getting this level of vibration I wonder if a wheel is bent. All it takes is a solid hit on a pothole at speed. I noticed the OE Mazda 19" wheels on my 6 Touring were made in China. I can only assume the CX's wheels come from the same mfr...

    DIY Brakes?

Hmm, I had a similar dilemma when I lived in a townhome without a garage. Ended up renting a 20x40 powered storage unit nearby that fixed that problem (and gave the wife some storage space in the back). Although this doesn't help you right now. Maybe do the work on a nice day in the local auto...

    DIY Brakes?

First off, good on you taking the initiative to do your own maintenance. You'll find doing stuff like changing out your own brakes, oil changes, transmission fluid changes or radiator swaps, etc. really aren't as intimidating as you might think. Just have a good forum to bounce questions off of...

2016 GT - Miles to empty?

Ok, I'm going to reword the original post. But I don't expect better MPG than my other car. That's clear just by looking at the sticker. But if you take the EPA combined 29mpg multiplied by fuel tank size, range should be in the 420 mile area.

2016 GT - Miles to empty?

Yeah, we've only been through a tank and she got about 340ish miles before she refueled. We'll see how well it does over time. I also agree with your comment about the transmission being tuned better in the CX5. In my limited seat time in the CX it does shift noticeably faster and smoother the 6.

2016 GT - Miles to empty?

Nope, I can do the math. I wanted to know how many miles to empty CX5 owners typically see after filling their tank.

2016 GT - Miles to empty?

So according to the Mazda spec sheet, the 2016 AWD version has a 15.3 gallon tank and the FWD is 14.8. Kinda makes sense since the AWD gets slightly less MPG. If you're right at 400 miles to empty since you've owned the car I guess it's just how it is for these cars.

2016 GT - Miles to empty?

Hey guys, the wife and I are the proud new owners of a 2016 CX-5 Grand Touring FWD in Titanium Flash mica. It was a lease return and has just under 38,000 miles. So far we really like it. Despite having the same engine and transmission and being heavier, it feels so much better than my 2014 6 -...

    Doors locked with car running

Interesting, my 2014 Touring does not have an exterior trunk release button. Regardless, my wife and I managed to leave both key fobs in the car one day at the store. She locked the doors via the door switch and we got out, then promptly realized both fobs were inside the car. Fortunately AAA...
