Guide Maintenance Mode for 2016 / 2017 CX-5 electronic brakes

I disconnected the EPB connector without disconnecting the battery and did not have any issues. The connector wasn't your usual squeeze and pull connector. Instead of squeezing the middle tab, pull the middle tab straight back with your finger and with your other hand grab the sides of the...

Guide Maintenance Mode for 2016 / 2017 CX-5 electronic brakes

Thanks for the replies. I'm doing rear rotor and pad replacement over the weekend. As you said, I was being lazy and thinking of just disconnecting the EPB motor connector if I needed the room. Figured to see if anyone disconnected the connector without disconnecting the battery without any...

Guide Maintenance Mode for 2016 / 2017 CX-5 electronic brakes

Did any of you disconnect the negative terminal on the battery after going into maintenance mode and before disconnecting the electrical connector to the electric parking brake motor gear unit? Or did you leave battery connected and have no issues disconnecting the EPB connector? I looked at...

Roof Rack System and Cargo Box Options for 2017 CX-5

According to Thule's roof box fit guide, the Thule Force XL will fit a 2017 CX-5 with a normal roof (no OEM roof rails) and using the Thule mounts and crossbars: https://www.thule.com/en-us/us/cargo-carrier?q=JveCHwxRw. I know this YouTube video is of the previous gen CX-5 but they are similar...

Is there a trick so my phone gps will still work when set to bluetooth in car?

If I'm not playing music via bluetooth or USB, then I don't hear any GPS audio prompts. Even if I'm in bluetooth audio or USB audio but the music is paused, I won't hear any GPS directions. Looks like it will only work while music is playing off of my phone.

Is there a trick so my phone gps will still work when set to bluetooth in car?

I just tried this and I can get Apple Maps, Google Maps, and Waze to give me directions while playing music on my phone. I tried it both while having audio set to Bluetooth as well as USB1. Apple Maps, Google Maps, and Waze would slightly lower the music and talk over the music similar to the...

    2017 Squealing Rear Brakes

blackcx5, thanks for the links. Mine sounds similar to the 1st video you linked. Thanks for the suggestions. I do brakes similar to what you suggested with lubricating pad ears and caliper clamp, lubricating slide pins, and using anti-seize. I took a video when leaving work today around...

2017 CX-5 Aftermarket Cross Bars (and a bit of a Thule AeroBlade review)

Thanks again. I do have the 53" from a previous vehicle. Good to know that it fits nicely on the CX-5.

    2017 Squealing Rear Brakes

Is anyone else dealing with squealing rear brakes on initial start-up? I have a bit over 6,000 miles. There is no steering wheel shaking when I brake. I mentioned it to the dealer during my 5k service. Of course they couldn't recreate the issue. Not surprised. However, it's something I can...

2017 CX-5 Aftermarket Cross Bars (and a bit of a Thule AeroBlade review)

Thanks for the information and verifying the crossbars clear the antenna. The Thule aeroblades you are running, are they the 53" or 47" bars?

2017 CX-5 Aftermarket Cross Bars (and a bit of a Thule AeroBlade review)

Is the top of the rear thule crossbar higher than the sharkfin antenna? The reason I ask is I have a thule atlantis 1600. I know I will possibly have issues opening the rear hatch running a big box like that. I'm more concerned about clearing the rear antenna. On my 2012 CRV and 2014...

Steering Wheel Shake when MRCC Brings Car to a Full Stop in Traffic

The few times I've used the MRCC in stop and go traffic I did notice the mild steering wheel shudder when it comes to complete stop. As MKF242 mentioned, it's usually from 2 to 0 mph. Similar to PVQ, I don't feel the same behavior when manually braking. I'm still trying to get used to...
