Maybe a silly question, but my recently acquired '16 GT fwd gas pedal has a definite "detent" resistance about 3/4 down the travel, and will go beyond that to the floor with more foot pressure. Is this normal? If so, what exactly takes place in that last inch of travel? Just a trans. kickdown? TIA!

Well I finally found a oem supplier for the 2 little access covers on the splash shield- "Real Mazda Parts" in Albuquerque NM. We'll see if they can actually deliver...

I decided to immediately change the oil/filter in my newly acquired '16 cx5 GT. Upon sliding underneath to get at the drain plug & filter, I discovered that small plastic removable access cover gone(!). Grrr... So now I want to get a replacement, and have found that most places want to sell the...

Spin it up on the balancer and check visually for out-of-roundness. Back in the day, I worked at an old-school tire shop, and we could spin it up to balance on the car- that was the ultimate balance, but it took more time.

Update #2- further checking had me taking off that interior center trim plastic piece on the top of the hatch. This exposed two more nuts that hold the spoiler on. One nut was only barely finger-tight! After tightening both nuts (adding some locktite), I reinstalled the trim cover. Now on to the...
