Factory reverse cam with Aftermarket HU

PS this image is incorrect, my unit never had any connection in this port, as indicated in my above post... I can't guarantee it isn't an input for a different model though...

Factory reverse cam with Aftermarket HU

Hello all. It's been far too long but I finally got my oscilloscope out and found the damn video feed. Sadly it didn't include the lines with steering input like the OEM Sanyo unit displayed, I expected the Park Assist module to compute this but seems it doesn't do a lot more than pass the...

    LED Headlights on the Mazda5

Update, beam patterns at night... Dipped: Clean cut off, left lens is dirty. Light is well focussed and lights the road from in front all the way up to the cutoff with excellent edge lighting and all road signs glow well from the extra haze output but haven't had any issues with dazzling...

    2008 LED headlight bulbs installation.

Now the bulb is in, the only other job is the wiring. Unfortunately the connector on the Mazda is not a direct H7 fitment, so we need to disconnect the wiring spade connectors from the plastic holder. There are 2 tabs for each connector that hold onto the curled up ears of the connector (hope...

    2008 LED headlight bulbs installation.

Then it's assembly time. Remove the adapter from the bulb and insert it below the bracket. Screw down the bracket with the original headlight screws. DON'T cross the screw threads in the aluminium headlight housing! Then slip the rubber cover onto the headlight and present it down...

    2008 LED headlight bulbs installation.

Now the piece de resistance! We need a bracket to hold the bulbs in. I fabricated a simple bracket from 3mm aluminium, 2mm would be easier or thinner stainless steel. Below are some pictures of the dimensions and final product. Not the prettiest due to tool handling marks etc but it's totally...

    2008 LED headlight bulbs installation.

Well this is taking a while, sorry folks... Firstly, remove the bumper and then headlights. We then need to remove the bulbs and unscrew the bulb holding clip and bracket. Quite simple: Then this is how the LED bulbs will fit. The H7 adapter is removable from the bulb, which is really...

    2008 LED headlight bulbs installation.

Hello forum As mentioned in the other thread, I recently fitted LED bulbs to my 2008 UK Sport Nav 5. This is a simple step by step of what I did and how it worked out. It is for your information only and your responsibility if and how you use this information yourselves. I accept no...

    LED Headlights on the Mazda5

FYI, I fitted NightEye LED bulbs to my '08 this weekend. Low and high beam. Fantastic performance! I'll write a thread separately for the process as I'm an engineer and got fancy with the installation, nothing complicated, just clever fabrication... But here's a (poor) pic of the low beam...

    LED Headlights on the Mazda5

Hey asian_xl Do you have details or a link to the Samsung kit please? I've not seen 360 LEDs before. Also, a photo of low beam on a wall showing the light cut off pattern?

    Bluetooth module unresponsive

Well, somehow it's working. I decided I'd get an aftermarket unit but then my unit isn't compatible with the aftermarket kits so I removed it to see what was required. When I plugged it all back in it went through a restart sequence of some sort, connecting to all the extra modules so I thought...

Factory reverse cam with Aftermarket HU

Thanks for the help. Here is a pic of the back of the head unit. Lots of extra cables from this thing... I'm not sure which is the camera feed though. Or how the reverse action works. I'll look into the CX adapter.
