    Transmission Service 2.5L Engine

I have a 2016, and when I talked to the dealership about flushing the transmission around 30,000, I was told that the CX-5 has a sealed transmission and should not be serviced unless there was a problem. I have a feeling that considering how much upselling they try to do every time I get my oil...

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Weird. I'm in VA as well, but got almost 35k out of the stock tech package tires. I had plenty more but picked up part of a screwdriver oh the highway in the sidewall, so went ahead and replaced all 4.

    2016 Infotainment problems

I had the problem with stuff being grayed out as you described, and turns out it was because I was trying to make changes while driving. When I got home and started messing with it while in my driveway, it wasn't grayed out anymore. See if that is the same for you.

All-New 2017 Mazda CX-5 to Premiere at Los Angeles Auto Show

I've read a few other articles about it being at the show (some new ones posted this week), and none of them say the 2.5t will be in the CX5. One in particular stated the 3 engines will be on display for comparison, and probably not being added to the CX5. That said, I'm still crossing my...

    Phone Mount Hack for ProClip

I haven't noticed any distraction, but will admit I haven't had to use the Maps at night yet, just music and other apps. I do a ton of night time driving, and turning the dash lights down helps immensely, especially the brightness of the infotainment screen. I think I have the screen brightness...

Carplay and Android Auto coming soon? Crossing fingers...

Actually according to the last page of the thread I linked to in the first post of this thread, the USB and everything is already good in our Mazdas http://mazda3revolution.com/forums/2014-2016-mazda-3-skyactiv-audio-electronics/119666-mildly-promising-carplay-update-23.html

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

I saved my CX5 from drowning. I ran out to the parking lot last night in the middle of hurricane Matthew and hopped the curb to park up on the sidewalk. The parking lot was flooding and just kept rising, and it was too late to drive around hoping for a higher spot. The water still came about...

    Knock Wood !

I have a long commute, and rolled 35,000 in the 13 months since buying my 2016. My drive is almost exactly 90 miles a day, and I usually do 4 round trips on a tank which is about 360 miles. When I fill up the range computer says about 400 miles to empty. The computer usually reads about 29-34...

Prospective CX-5 owner. Which model year/trim do I want?

I'm surprised no one mentioned that there are easy to use hacks out that let you turn off the touch screen lockout. It lets you do other stuff like change the display wallpaper as well. There are threads in this forum about it. Also here...

    20XX Mazda CX5 Spy Shots

That has been my experience with every dealer employee except 1. When I bought the CX-5 I knew way more than the sales guy, and even showed him a few things to look for, mostly after reading about it here on the forum. But then as I'm about to leave, he says hey, let me introduce you to "Mike"...

Does the Range shown on the dash have a "safety" factor?

Saw an article last month that roadside service calls were way up the last year or two according to AAA. They said it was mostly due to people trying to use the Range Till Empty gauge as a reliable source. They recommended just never letting your car drop below something like 1/4 tank or something.

Prospective CX-5 owner. Which model year/trim do I want?

Just throwing this in, I held out for the 2016 for the updated sound deadening. I helped my mom buy a 2014 CX-5, and the road noise was the only thing I didn't like about it. Mazda added a lot of sound deadening to the 2016. Also, for whoever balked at $1,500 for LED lights, there is more...

    CX-5 hood/bug deflector

Man, there are some other interesting parts offered on that Mazda site, like Headlight protectors http://www.mazda.com.au/owners/accessories/info/ke11achlp/ Rear Seat Cover http://www.mazda.com.au/owners/accessories/info/ke12acscr/ As buggy as my front end gets, I like the idea of taking off...

    install aftermarket door seals

I have thought about it. I was planning to buy a new GMC Canyon or Colorado, and one of their big selling points is a quiet ride, including triple door seals.

    Phone Mount Hack for ProClip

From what I have seen most side curtain air bags come down from the top of the window or out of the seat. There is a symbol for an airbag up on the door frame about ear level or so and higher. If the bag comes from anywhere around the door window it would blow the phone away from the driver...
