    Turbo Kits

First thing I note in the kit list that you linked in your first post: "Generic Install Instructions". This is not a thing that instills confidence. First thing, register on the Miata Forum at www.miataforum.com and spend some time in the Power Mods section. Ask questions. Alternatively...

    The 98 MX-5

European model designations are sane, totally unlike the North American marketing schemes, which have automakers releasing models 9-11 months ahead of an actual year. Just as the NA Miata was officially on sale in July 1989 (as a 1990 model), the NB Miata came out in May 1998 as a 1999 model...

1991 mazda needs some fixin up!

Lindsey, Check out www.miata.net and www.miataforum.com as two excellent resources. As to roll bars, Hard Dog roll bars are simply the best...and are sold by a few Miata retailers, such as www.flyinmiata.com . Depending on where you are and if there's one nearby, join your local Miata club...

    i love miatas

Kind of like a light-bulb moment...Proteges and 3s are nice...but they're driven at the wrong end and aren't a visceral driving experience as compared to a Miata.

Replacing Front Brake pads, seems tight

Post a query on www.miataforum.com ... with an enormous user base of very knowledgeable people. Buy a shop manual...best one out there the Enthusiast's Manual (for your 1997 you'll need the Red book with Yellow Miata).

What weight of oil to use?

Nope, it's not ok... (hand) you will need to a transmission flush. That's meant for differentials and non-synconized transmissions...it will eat your brass synchros. To quote Castrol's info: GET IT OUT OF THERE NOW!!!(hand) Personally, it's also too thick for your diff too.

    GReddy Miata Turbo Kit

Good price...leaves a person with plenty of $$s in hand for later when they plan upgrades.

    GReddy Miata Turbo Kit

You're welcome! That's all I'd intended my posts to be... I wish that there had been someone with insights into the kit when I bought mine. I bought my kit in combination with another club member, to which, he's still running his, with a custom Spearco intercooler, FM cold air intake, and FM...

What weight of oil to use?

Engine oil can vary from 0W30 to 15W50...but 10W30 should be fine. As to the transmission, I'd highly recommend Redline M90 (or MTL if you want something a bit thinner). Both M90 and MTL gear oils are specifically designed for use in transmissions / transaxles and are far better than straight...

Few Simple Questions From Newbie 1997

Jack is in the extreme left of the trunk, in the fender well directly infront of the tail-lights. The handle should be clipped onto three clips along the front wall of the trunk near to the jack. Outwardly visible...so if it's not there, sounds like it's missing. Many on eBay. Under the car...

    GReddy Miata Turbo Kit

Again, I've said nothing bad about the kit...just things that will need attention. The kit's easy to get into ... but that's the hook, as it will require some finicky work over time to keep it running, and you will want more power...so plan ahead. Your RB downpipe is a perfect example...

    new rx-7?

Fe Rx-7 Mazda is most certainly not retiring the RX-7 nameplate, nor will it compete with the RX-8 (that car has created a niche of its own). The FE-model RX-7 will be a two-door two-seater GT car, possibily also available as a convertible. It will be naturally aspirated and Mazda is working...

2000 Protege with thrust bearing problem

Welcome to the US...where Mazda North America Operations in Irvine, CA, only warranties Mazdas for 3yrs / 60,000 miles. Only recently did they extend it to 4yrs. Mazda Canada however warranties Mazdas (excepting those POS Mazdas built by FoMoCo...the B-series and Tribute) for 5yrs / 100,000...
