Long answer: I noticed my SRI filter was rubbing on the coolant overflow bottle, so I inserted a shim in the bracket that attaches to the ECU. I had to take the plug off the ECU to reach the bolts, and forgot to reattach. CEL came on after the first crank, prompting the reset.

Pardon my NOOBness, but what do the wheel bearing have to do with the engine crapping out? Wouldn't it be best to get the thing into a shop for diagnosis? (boom07)
I agree, I think every car that I've owned that had struts (rather than shocks) has made some kind of crunching sound when going over speed bumps and such in cold weather.......
WENT to UNC- graduated in '96. At that time I was driving an '88 Escort GT, which I now know was built around the Mazda 1.8L engine- funny how things work out....
Heh- too bad I'm late coming into this thread- snow's here! Anywho, I'd be up for a cruise (weather permitting) or any future meets. The Big Thompson is nice little drive as well- if you can avoid the traffic.
