CX-5 Android Auto / Apple CarPlay

This is new to me. Android Auto; I've always been able to say "OK Google" then give instructions such as where I want to go. Now I get this verbal message: "When it's safe, first tap notification, then use Google assistant whilst driving." What notification? What an I supposed to press? Where...

    Turning it Off

Regarding volume control, yes it mutes and that's it. So if your'e playing a CD or music from a USB stick, it carries on playing which is crazy.

    Navigation issue.

We don't have many Toll Roads in the UK fortunately. One thing that keeps appearing though is the notice "special permissions required," what special permissions? There aren't any! I was set up on "Fastest Route" and it was far worse; now on "Easy Route" which is better. Trouble with fastest...

    Navigation issue.

I don't know about the US version but the UK version of MZD is rubbish. It constantly takes me off the Motorway (Freeway), sends me 6 or 7 miles down another road, round the next roundabout and back up the the same motorway junction I have just exited from. I have complained to my dealer & all I...

I-Stop on Manual sometimes kicks in just as clutch re-engages

I've booked it in. I-Stop kicks in sometimes when the brake hasn't even been depressed such as approaching lights in second when they're changing and I slip into first gear to pull away. Very dangerous.

I-Stop on Manual sometimes kicks in just as clutch re-engages

As per the title. This is a nuisance for me on my 2017 2.2 manual. Just on the odd occasion just as you approach traffic lights of a roundabout the I-Stop suddenly kicks in whilst your left foot is bringing up the clutch pedal to re-engage. Doesn't happen very often and the car doesn't have to...

    Updating... a few questions.

From a fellow European. Yes the card should be there & under that little flap in the arm rest/console beside the USB slots. If not then the dealer is remiss as should have picked it up on the PDI inspection as well as demonstrate the functions. You cannot get away with using any old SD card...

2017 CX-5 GS - Can you really not turn entertainment off?

If you drive in some of our UK cities you'd know why. Only Paris & Italy are worse as far as I'm concerned. OK where I'm familiar with the lay-out but sometimes there's a cacophony of city noise, new road lay-outs and along with cyclists, pedestrians and buses you need all your senses at times...

UK (Brits) New 2017 model thread, or fancy a second cuppa?

Agreed, I wanted petrol last time but as Anchorman says, only 2-litre and no Auto. Why?? We must the only country where they are dumping the 2-litre version.

2017 CX-5 GS - Can you really not turn entertainment off?

I'm with the OP on this one, hit mute and it does just that yet the track will carry on playing, same with the CD and when your'e stationary you can hear it spinning in the background. Sadly there isn't a "start up volume" either. If I'm in an unfamiliar city in busy traffic I like to go without...

UK (Brits) New 2017 model thread, or fancy a second cuppa?

Wouldn’t let me, as soon as I selected the Letter W the R immediately showed beside it and Wrexham came on the screen. The next part of the code I would have liked to have entered was greyed out. Can I ask if anyone can try a Worcester postcode and see what you get? Alex.

UK (Brits) New 2017 model thread, or fancy a second cuppa?

I nearly put this in the Infotainment section but as this is specific to Brits and UK Postcodes thought more appropriate in here. The latest Infotainment, not the Tomtom nav: Has anyone tried Worcester postcodes, and if so what do you get? They all start with the first two letters WR, however...

UK (Brits) New 2017 model thread, or fancy a second cuppa?

Whilst not having had an Xtrail, I get what you are saying. As much as I moaned about Tomtom in the early days - I bloody miss it! Alex.

Skip to next album on USB

Your'e not alone. The old TomTom NB1 type automatically went to the next album, mine are alphabetically by artists where I used a FAT sorter on the memory stick so If I played one Pink Floyd Album, would move to the next in order. Sadly what you describe is what you get! There are a lot of...

UK (Brits) New 2017 model thread, or fancy a second cuppa?

Sat-Nav "Live Traffic" still crap, still not real-time still not Live. What were they thinking when they introduced this? Joined a queue of Stationary traffic on A358 two miles from Junction 25 M5. No mention on "Live Traffic" and my phone is enabled as a hot-spot. Took my own diversion through...
