    Brand new CX-5 oil leak

16,000 miles here. At my last oil change the shop (not a dealership, local trusted mechanics) noticed that my timing chain cover was "weeping" oil-- not a full on drip but noticable accumulation on the lower block. Next time I checked it there was more oil than I was comfortable with (not that...

    2016 CX-5 Touring driver's seat rocks slightly

Just to add a data point-- I had my seat rails replaced at about 3 months. I'm approaching two years of ownership and the problem has never returned, so pretty clearly a defective part and not a defective design. I'm a pretty big guy, so if there was some way the rails just bent under use and...

    Floor Mats for 2016

Just a note-- after about a year of service, my driver's side 3D MAXpider mat (the general style is sold under a couple of names) has worn through where my foot brushes up against it while driving-- up near the dead pedal. It's pretty noticeable because the core material is white/beige. I now...

    2016 CX-5 Touring driver's seat rocks slightly

Well, again, mine rocked from day one, and getting the part replaced has kept it solid for the last 6 months. I'll report back if it redevelops the problem.

    Pandora & IOS users

That's my experience as well-- having Pandora running when I start the car, allowing the screen to cycle through all of its allow/confirm/yes/no buttons without touching it, and not having USB connected at startup means Pandora works fine. If I start the car without Pandora running I'll have to...

    Best oil

Just FYI, I asked my dealer (which did stock the Mazda oil and used it for oil changes at the time) why so many dealerships were dropping the Mazda Oil, and he said that it was mostly about people freaking out about $75 oil changes. Cheaper oil means they can keep the total cost under $50...

    Pandora & IOS users

Just adding a data point-- I've had the audio from the phone occasionally when using Pandora. Last time it happened I had connected a USB cable to the phone before starting the car (just for charging purposes, I don't generally use USB in-car for audio) so I wondered if that had anything to do...

    2016 CX-5 Touring driver's seat rocks slightly

Didn't mention a revised part, work invoice notes part #KF-69-88-AF0A "power unit." EDIT: I googled the part # and it appears to be the entire lower seat frame-- everything but the seat cushion including rails. As an OEM part it's $380.

    Windshield Sprayer

It just puts a trickle of fluid down the middle to give the wiper something to work with

    2016 CX-5 Touring driver's seat rocks slightly

Mine rocked just a little, and after dealer repair doesn't rock at all. No play whatsoever. So I think your dealer is just blowing you off with his "they all do that" line.

    2016 CX-5 Touring driver's seat rocks slightly

Yeah, I think you should. The movement in my seat was slight enough that I wondered if it wasn't just inherent in the tolerances for something that needed to move without binding, but once I brought it up with the dealership they immediately ordered new rails. Now that it doesn't move at all...

    2016 CX-5 Touring driver's seat rocks slightly

Mine had a little play-- just enough to be noticeable. I brought it up with the dealer at the first oil change, they ordered new rails and put them in at the second oil change. Fixed it completely, driver's seat is now rock steady. I was actually surprised the dealership was so quick to get...

Best door speakers to get without upgrading stock bluetooth unit or adding an amp?

But the problem isn't over-powering the new speakers, just the opposite. A speaker designed for much higher wattage than the stock CX-5 head unit isn't going to sound its best (or possibly even very good) with 22 watts. The speaker's sensitivity is a measure of it's ability to produce a given...

    Leaked 2016 CX-5.

I wonder if they got around to illuminating more of the door buttons?

    Leaked 2016 CX-5.

Not the same display-- looks like it fits into roughly the same cutout, but the screen is much bigger because Mazda dropped the physical button and knobs-- functionality presumably handled by the iDial thing by the cupholders.
