Trouble with 2nd row seat belt buckle

Hello All, I wonder if any of you have had this problem. On my 2nd row passenger-side seat, the seat belt buckle is stuck in an upright position, which makes buckling the belt very difficult, especially for the kiddos. Please take a look at the attached diagram. When the bottom seat cushion is...

    Headunit of choice

Thanks for being a guinea pig, juniorsenior. Would you mind sharing a link to the device you tried? I had high hopes for these - they just look so much better in the car. I wish there was a way to install buttons and knobs in the trim for a Kenwood or Pioneer. With regards to your specific...

    Headunit of choice

Looks like we're in the same boat. Have you actually tried Apple CarPlay? I spent a lot of time researching Pioneer and Kenwood units with CarPlay and I'm just not convinced yet. I like the idea of using your phone as the brain for the head unit (it probably has better circuitry than any of...

    All Season Tire Recommendation

I can also vouch for the Michelin Primacy MXM4. They're much, much better than the OEM Toyos that came on my '13 Sport. I kept the 16' wheels. Shop around and you should find a good deal. I got the Michelins at Sears for $500 including mounting and balancing.

Aftermarket Mazda radio harness with full pinout?

No, I haven't done any work at all. When the time comes, I'll post about it, but I'm just too busy for it now. Life...

Aftermarket Mazda radio harness with full pinout?

Mine is also a base model, 2013. I don't care about the radio info being displayed, but I'd like to keep the thermometer and climate control displays working. After some searching, I may have found a solution. This is a radio interface designed and mapped specifically for Mazdas - when I'm...

Aftermarket Mazda radio harness with full pinout?

Hi Primergy, Have you installed this yet, and if so, does the dash display work? I'm looking at the same adaptor on Crutchfield and there's a note that says the factory dash display will be lost. I would much rather keep the dash display functional. - Chris

Post Pics of your Aftermarket Mazda5 Stereo Setups

I have the same question. I'm researching a head unit to replace the stock radio in my 2013 Sport, and there's plenty of info about retaining steering wheel button function, but very little about the dash display. For some head units, not all, Crutchfield shows an adaptor that says you will lose...

    A mini-intro, and I'm looking at a 6sp Mazda5...

Hello! I've been driving a 2013 manual since last October, and a couple years ago we had a 2009 with the 5spd auto. I also agree with your Goldilocks "just right" feel about the MZ5. Brooklyn is not so hilly as San Fran, but it's 90% stop-and-go driving and 100% super-tight parking. I love that...

On the market for a 2012+...any buyers tips?

I was just shopping last year for 5 with a manual, which is the Sport trim only, and there were a number of little touches that made the 2013 more appealing. In the US, the 2013 has a USB port, privacy glass for the rear windows, and integrated side-mirror turn signals, to name a few. The 2012...

Frames' Mazda5 Build / Maintenance Thread

I'd like to see your touchscreen setup. I'm looking to do it myself pretty soon.

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Yeah, it's just a revenue grab disguised as a safety program. People now speed on side streets where there are no cameras. The Law of Unintended Consequences strikes again...

New garage-mate for our Mazda 5. Sorry - not a Mazda

You're not crazy. That's a great car - it has Unicorn status and a touch of Swedish weirdness, but it's use of the GM parts bin should make it easy to maintain. How old are your kids? I went with the 5 because I can't fit a high-schooler and two little ones in a regular backseat without...
