Besides adding some cool factor, there’s a big pocket of dead space behind the rear bumper, where the muffler is. At speed this pocket creates a “parachute” effect thus adding forward resistance. This diffuser is supposed to help eliminate this effect.
I registered later in the day. When I tried registering for the Moss Cruise on Sat. afternoon, it was weird. At the bottom of my screen it said that my application had been submitted for the wait list. However the top of my screen had an error message saying that the email was already in use? So I am guessing that I am on the wait list?
Diffuser looks great Mark! I do love the way it looks but it is pricey and right now I'd rather spend that money on other things (springs/shocks). Hmmmm, just saw your post about that dead space. Mine is even moreso now with the GWR SSST installed in place of the huge OEM muffler.
Washed and waxed my baby. I also finally used the 303 soft top treatment kit that I bought last year.
I used the cleaner that comes with the kit the day before so that the top was nice and dry for the second step. I thought that my top looked pretty good even before cleaning and treatment but it looked even better after cleaning and fantastic after the treatment. Nice and black and looking like new! I used a foam roller to apply the treatment.
Went a spring “romp” with local Miata group About 40 cars, 4 groups of 10....did around 200 miles....day couldn't have been nicer! 80, 38% humidity.....awesome roads through middle of the state. Great lunch, fried clams at Kimballs, ice cream at Johnson’s dairy bar. Left at 9 walked in the door at 5....back which has been bothersome did great! time for a nap!
Tranny fluid was topped up today. I didn't bring enough last time. But found one of the rear swaybar bushings is toast. Ordered some new ones and will have them in this weekend. New replacement muffler from Goodwin arrived today. Also going in this weekend.
Today, I washed it in prep for an evening run to get ice cream. Tomorrow is a longer run with a picnic lunch and then more ice cream. Mmmm
Yesterday, I used Hyperdip for the first time. It was sooo easy. I dipped the emblems gloss black to compliment the wheels. After prepping them, I did three light tack coats followed by seven wet coats. I waited 20 minutes inbetween wet coats for it to dry and then 90 minutes before removing the excess.
