What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Found some LEDs in the garage, put them in the reverse lights. Also, sold the MS3. Time for some WeatherTechs.

In preparation for a potential upcoming project, I put some amber film over the fog lights. I wanted to get a better baseline of how the fog lights perform. It also helped to show that they are aimed as far down as I think they can go. Maybe aiming them up will help?

Also added Tony’s mask, Steve’s/Sam’s shield, and Baby Groot. Some of these used to sit in my office at home but that got turned into a bedroom for one of my daughters. Back of the closet wasn’t where I wanted them anymore.

May I ask where you got your pet cover for the seat backs and cargo area? I’d like to protect our new 9. Although I go by BulldogDan we actually have 4 Boxers. Had Bulldogs years ago but tired of the vet bills with that breed. 3 of these 4 are rescues from 3 years old to 13. All are pretty healthy.

Nice dogs! It’s called CanvasBack. We have a husky mix and a poodle mix. The husky hair doesn’t get all in the carpet now and we can pull the canvas out and wash it if we need to

Wife gave me my Father's Day gifts a little early.. 😒😆

That's curb damage and a minor bend in the lip, both on the same wheel. I now have 3 damaged wheels from someone else driving the car, yay.

This is part of the reason I have been debating getting 17” wheels. I have them on the 4Runner and they have zero curb rash because of the extra sidewall. Are you going to get them fixed?

I don't know.. if I could get the wife to drive something else, I'd get them fixed for sure. I wanted to get them fixed after she curbed the other two wheels, but I'm glad I never got around to it. Now I'm not sure if it's even worth it.

Either I keep using them as is until I'm forced to repair them, or I repair them and then sell them and get some 20s. No idea what I want to do at this point.

I need to be careful, starting to slip down this slope of modding...Removed the Mazda roadside assistance slicker. Something tells me they’re not gonna help me in Germany anyway.

I have Suma mirrors on my other vehicle and loved them so much I preordered them for my CX-9 when I got it. They finally came in today! Unfortunately, the wrong ones were sent. Oh well. More waiting. Just hoping Eddy still has a pair available

Did the pillow stuffing in the subwoofer mod. It was a tough choice of sound quality over comfort, but I guess I will manage with just 2 pillows…

Installed the Suma mirrors. Ended up cutting the mounting bracket off and relocating it. If you’re going to buy the mirrors, expect them to be wrong and need to be modified to fit.

Nice job getting them to fit! It's a shame that the customer service experience was so poor. Did he ever get back to you after you emailed him about receiving the wrong mirrors?

Thanks! Played around a little last night and realized it was just VHB tape holding them together. Easy enough to move the bracket.

My first email went unanswered for two days. Sent the same exact email after @David Paul said to contact him. Got a response immediately. Two days of “I’m checking” and then ghosted. Going on the third day since I sent him the last email with more pictures. Nothing. Was either going to do a chargeback or make them work. Still not happy about the experience, but I got what I wanted for the most part.

My search for 21" rims has ended. Here they are:

21x9.5"
ET+31
Gloss black with a machined face
Custom drilled PCD/CB
285/40R21 Bridgestone Alenzas

IMHO, 21's suit the car's proportions and brake sizes far better than the stock 20's (which makes the car look long and heavy from a side profile view).

Next mods on the list (had to make sure the wheels would suit): roof rails, slotted rotors, painted calipers.
