Valve Stem Seals FYI

OEM valve stem seals finally gave after 125k miles. Since OEM seals are quite expensive I tried Victor Rienz, Felpro and Supertechs. First were the Victors and that lasted about 2 months. Then Felpro's which only lasted 2 weeks. Supertechs are currently installed and hoping for the best. Hopefully it's not the oil control rings or valve to guide clearance.

Left to right..Felpro, Victor Reinz, Supertech intake seal, Supertech exhaust seal. Victor's where hard to remove as you can see they were damaged upon removal. But the spring was oddly shaped before removal. The felpro's you could easily take off with a 90 degree pick. Was suspecting oil may have made its way through there? Supertech's looks to have a better seal. Anyone have any issues with either of these seals?

IF they are only lasting that short of time they are either
A: incorrect
B: installed incorrectly
C: the valve guides are worn and damaging the seals

I had no issues with OEM from Mazda! Price was reasonable..not made in China and they're warrantied. If you want recommendation for tool get a Toyo!. Yes you can jury rig but after changing 3 sets (due to other reasons not fault w/ seals) that tool was worth every penny.
