Are you sure about that? GM and Ford bought lots of car companies in the 90's, not all were in bad financial shape.
 
I am seeing more and more here in NJ. Very glad that people are realizing that Toyota and Honda are not the only car companies out there. Pity the poor CRV owner - it seems like every other car is a CRV. I guess it is a good thing since 20 years ago ever other car was a Ford Explorer!
 
Around my area it is the Rav4 that is everywhere. One time on a 30 mile trip on a moderately traveled 2-lane road I counted 26 of them. In the parking lot where I work there are at least 6 Rav4's.
 
Not too many in Pennsylvania...Although I have encountered a few. I love driving around and having some people look at it like they haven't seen it before ;)
