Quick Apple Carplay question.

:
2016 CX-5 GT
I took my "new to me" CX-5 to the dealer to get an update on my firmware to hopefully fix some random Bluetooth issues, and saw they updated me to 70.00.335 NA N, so does this mean if I wanted to get Apple Carplay in my CX-5, all I would have to do is install the Retrofit Kit 00008FZ34?

Thanks

Yes.
Dealer is NOT supposed to update grade your software to v70 unless it is for CarPlay/AndroidAuto.
However, now, you can install the hardware, DIY, if you are up for it.
Find some video on youtube. a 30 mins job if you are handy enough.

v70 behaves nicely as I have upgraded my Mazda6 to v70 and I have not installed the hardware yet...
Not a problem I have seen so far. Actually seems to be faster in rebooting at startup.

Yep, as long as the AA / Carplay firmware is installed first you just need to plop in the new USB port and cables :)
