OEM Spark Plugs

I reviewed the spark plugs available for my CX7. The types available are Platinum, double Platinum and iridium. There is a discrepancy between my Owners manual which has a recommended gap of 0.028-0.031" The replacement plugs are listing 0.035-0.051" Has anyone looked at the plugs in their CX7? What is the manufacture, plug number and type i.e. double Plats or iridium or ? Thanks Ed

Go with the gap specs in the manual versus what the websites or books say for the plugs. If the serivice interval for changing the plugs is 30K, then I'd save the money and just get some NGK copper equivalent plugs. I've done that in my MSP and have better performance over the stock laser platinums. 0.030 gap on NGK V-power plugs. $1.99 versus $11.99 per plug.

I thought the service interval for plugs is 60k? I doubt anyone with a CX7 has hit 60k yet.

Manual for my CX7 states that the service interval for plugs is 60 or 75,000 miles

What is the NGK model that you are using, I did the same thing with my Jetta and did notice a better performance except that you had to change the plugs more often but it's worth it.
