I'll be in New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl & New Years Eve. I'll be there from the 30th until the 2nd. I'm staying a block from the French Quarter; anyone gonna be around or have any recommendations about where to go? Good food, drink? And how are laws around there regarding alcohol? I hear open container is legal, but are there any stipulations about it? Does it have to be in a cup? Or can you just walk around with cans/bottles? If you'll be around, lets meet up!

For all the time I've spent in New Orleans, about all I have to contribute is "the booze is going to need to be in a cup." Everything else is such a blur that I can't remember anything useful.
Outside of that, if someone wants to organize a meet or something, I'm down.

dont have an open container in your car and you are good. as far as drinking though get a handgrenade from tropical isle. pat o's is tight. fat catz saloon was pretty tight when we went a month ago. as far as food im not quite sure where to point you on that. depending on whats going on i might be able to round a few of the guys up and we could go down there. yeah you can walk around with alcohol. i had 3 handgrenades in my hand at one time.

Well I live here in New Orleans. You can have a drink on the street, just no glass contaniers, must be plastic. Do not drive around with a open container in your car

I work at the casino downtown, so I am always there from 700am to 300pm

No, unfortunately it's not in shape to make the long drive. I think a front wheel bearing is worn out. I won't have the money to fix it until after I get back probly... School loan refunds come in around the 1st of the year.
