If any NE Ohio Mazda is interested in donating, water, canned goods, cleaning supplies to assist the flood victims of NE Ohio. Fox 8 Cleveland is collecting these items for the victims of last weeks flood from 5:00AM-8:00PM tomorrow.

Hopefully the members here in NE Ohio can offer some hope to our neighbors, family and friends. $10 can buy 2-3 cases of water, so even if you can go to the dollar store and get cleaning supplies, bleach, trash bags and mops, every little bit helps.

Also, it is always a good thing when our membership can give back to our community. Here is the link with information:

I was wondering how bad the damage was. I work in Wickliffe and nothign was damaged here. Everyone I work with, most of which live east of there, had some standing water, but no damage or anything. It sounds like Summit county's flooding of the Chagrin had more damage.

there was a ton of damage in Mentor. they got close to 10 inches of rain over about 10-12 hours. tons of roads were closed that morning.

one of my wife's coworkers had 4 feet of water in the basement. she has been removed from her house, and is STILL not allowed to go back. she is not being covered by her flood insurance because they are saying it was drainage backup. she is barely being covered by her own insurance because they are saying it is flooding that caused the drainage issues. she has no food, no clothing, nothing.

most of the people on my parents street in mentor had carpet and belongings out on the curb last weekend when i drove by...
the condo complex on Jackson, basically across the street from me had tons of water in the parking lot. here is a pic of that from 6 PM friday (after a warm sunny day dried a lot of the water)

Well, Cleveland6club.com a local 6 club that me and a couple of other 6 owners started 2 weeks ago, raised $200 and I matched the donation and the dealership where I bought my cars from matched it as well. In less than one day we purchased $600 worth of food, clothing and cleaning supplies.

I made 3 trips to FOX8 yesterday, my wife and I were interviewed twice yesterday, once around 5:45 in the morning and then around 7:15PM.....it was a long day, but worthwhile.

As someone who has dealt with flood and other disasters, I know personally what this can do to families. We all know someone who has been effected by this disaster.
