Making a comeback to the forums after many many years with the protege, the mazdspeed 3. I now own a 6 with a couple of mods (headbang)

Well done, sir! Always loved the look of those Vossens on the 3rd gen 6. Makes me really want to go out and get new photos of mine too...

Don't think I've posted here before - here's my 2014 with 110k miles on her :)

Awesome Byakuya!
Looking better than ever!!!

Proud new owner if a Mazda 6 Grand Touring Reserve here, longtime Mazda fan but first time owner. Coming from owning only rwd higher hp cars, it's quite a change but this new 6 has enough torque to keep me happy.

Wow. Looks like they did an amazing job with the leather!!

Thanks! The color really changes depending on the sunlight. The shade in the picture is what I would've liked it to look like during the day. But it only looks like that when the sun is setting. During the afternoon with the bright sunlight, it goes more towards the orange side. If I could do it over I would go for a few shades darker.

The company is actually Canadian. Canadaseatskins.ca. Have mats for alot of vehicles (except premium brands).
I would recommend it to anyone looking to give their Mazda6 a boost. They have dozens of colors.

I must have been living with my head buried in the sand. This is the very first Mazda6 configuration I have ever seen with this design.

I will say this: you have put a lot of TLC in getting that ol girl exactly to your specifications. And it shows. You’ll love those Pirelli’s. I just made the jumó to them, as well. Congrats on a job well done!. 🏆

Well, after 9 amazing years my 2014 Touring with a manual decided to bite the dust. Not sure exactly what happened but I found all my coolant in the engine oil after I got an overheat warning one morning, so probably either a cracked block or head gasket failure. Only 135k miles on it too, I was hoping for at least another 3-4 out of that car.

Looked around for a week and just couldn't find anything that was speaking to me. The 2014 was my favorite car ever and it saddens me to no end that they've discontinued the 6 here in the US, so I decided to help the 6 live on as long as possible. Picked up a "new to me" 2021 Carbon Edition two days ago. Really miss the manual transmission but loving the turbo!

Sorry to hear about your 2014. Did you end up trading it in without fixing it? And did you mod it at all? Hopefully you were able to transfer some parts over to the new 6. Polymetal grey is a great colour! Hope you get to enjoy it for many more years to come!

Upgraded rims/tires.

Haven't traded it yet, it's sitting in our driveway waiting for me to decide what to do. No mods besides some minor ones; LED lights all around, bronze shift bushings, Miata shift knob, etc. Still shocked it's toast after it being problem free for all of its 135k miles.

Oddly enough I did have to transfer some parts. Never thought I'd have to ask if a used car came with floor mats or a second key, but I will after buying the new one! Was getting ready to leave and asked about both "Oh, we lost the second key. There's only the one." "what about the floor mats?" "Oh, if they're stained we throw them away". What a joke. So I transferred the floor mats from my old one into the new, still waiting on a replacement fob I ordered.

Might be crazy, but my wife's uncle taught auto repair for years and has a full shop. After discussing the car with him it might go into his shop in spring so we can pull the engine apart and check it. If it's as dead as I think I might find a used engine for us to swap in. Sounds crazy, but if it turns out well I might even sell the new one off and go back to the old. Damn I love that car. Got me through three years of commuting when I was travelling almost 80 miles each way every day.

Since this is a pic thread, here she is just last fall. Not bad for almost 9 years!

Yeah, still looks showroom ready! If you can get it fixed or swap the engine out and you're happy with the 2014 I'd just keep it and save some cash.
