Hi all,

I recently bought an engine damper from a friend. He couldn't get it to fit, so gave up. I have a UK spec 2.0 sport, and maybe it differs slightly to the mazdaspeed one that is listed on the box for the damper???

I thought I'd give it a go, and I think I can see where it should fit (I have no instructions with it) but it looks like the bracket fits under the strut brace, and then would foul with the pipes for the air con???

Can anyone help with any advice for this, or pictures of one installed??

any help would be appreciated!!!

Yep, looks like it fits pretty tightly to the AC lines, according to the pictures I've found.

thanks for that, looks like I was right in where it goes at least!

My pipework and strut brace look a bit different to that

not the best pic I know, but you can see the differences. the brace is not a flat bracket, which means it will be lifted at the edges. The pipes look really different too.

Maybe I will need to be inventive with some brackets...

Hey man, welcome in over here. i12drivemy323F in your forum. How's it goin? Yeah, your piping looks a bit different & haven't seen that horn placement before. I don't have one of these but I know there's some pics floatin around in here somewhere. I'll try to scrounge one up for ya. Question, What is that wing deal on your wiper arm & where can I score one for mine? Is it a UK spec thing? Don't see them over here much, once I think. Here's a couple of pics.........

There was talk in the thread about an Ingells one being better made & warnings about the bracket breaking on the weapon-r or it just not doing that much if anything. I have no experience with either product. Looks to me like you may have to bend the bracket coming out from under the strut bolt down to go under your AC line instead of over it like in the pics above.

Steering wheel is on the other side. =) I'd say the stuff as been relocated, as likely the steering column comes through the US spec stock routing location of those AC lines.

The US version terminates right where the steering column would, presumably, go on any RHD version of the car, whereas it has to be routed across the firewall and to the left hand side to get to the condenser, etcetera.

I feel like a bit of a numpty! I had completely forgotten about the whole LHD / RHD thing!!! I guess it makes very little difference on most parts, in my defence!
At least I know where it should fit, and I'm in the right ball park, I just need to modify the brackets a bit, maybe mount it lower down at the rear end, to go under the pipes.
I have read other threads which kinda put me off a little bit, but really this is primarily a visual mod, especially as it's rare in the UK. I have the AWR front motor mount, and it's reasonably well planted in there, to be honest I only really got this because it was pretty cheap, and I thought it would give it a try...
