Headlamp spring replacement

Anyone know where I can get the spring that holds the headlamp in place? Dealer only has the whole headlamp? Does anyone sell this aftermarket or is it a junkyard item?

unfortunately there is no individual part number for that spring. the whole lamp would be replaced. your best bet would be a junkyard or part-out somewhere on the forums maybe, or swipe it from a broken lamp.

Other guys have just siliconed the bulbs in.

Thanks! Any idea if that spring is the same on a regular Protege? Are the headlamps interchangeable?

the headlights are interchangeable from a sedan,(i.e. they will fit) but they use a single bulb for high/low beam so you would have to rewire. i am unsure if the sedans use the same spring but i do know its an h4 bulb vs an h7 from the hatchback

The springs are the same as on a sedan (source: I took 2 off a sedan protege at a junk yard).
