2017~2024 General knowledge and information sharing

:
2019 CX-5 GTR
I am a recent 2019 CX-5 Signature owner (November 2019). I found a few online resources [like this forum] and immediately started to learn more about the vehicle. For me modifications are a way of life as a vehicle owner and so I quickly went down the rabbit hole of all various pieces and parts available from the US and foreign markets.

Anyways long story short, I started to shove what I found in a document for easier searching and reference later down the road. This document may be helpful to others:

If you use it, great! If you find it annoying/worthless, sorry to waste your time.
If you think something might be useful to others and needs to be added, let me know.
If you find a glaring mistake / improvement, let me know.

Interesting, thanks!

I skimmed it and noticed that (at least) one line item is only correct for 2013-16 CX-5's (the add a fuse, row 144). I'm sure many other things are like that too (Winddeflectors, Mats, etc., etc.) Maybe you could add a column to identify Gen1 vs. Gen 2 stuff?

FYI, for the Gen2 add-a-fuse (driver footwell), you'd need something like: https://www.amazon.com/dp/ (commissions earned)

@RedBaron thanks for the early feedback. I tried to designate GEN1 GEN2 when I knew about it.. as a new owner and eager to record information some stuff simply got shoved in there when I found it. As the note/warning at the top of the document indicates always verify fitment for the items.

for the item in question perhaps these mini fuses might do the trick on GEN2
https://www.amazon.com/dp/ (commissions earned)

though they don't specifically say "low profile" like:

Some items (like floor mats) are labeled as GEN1, people however have reported moving their mats from GEN1 to GEN2 without a problem.. and manufactures are slow to update catalog entries, so YMMV of course. I guess if I do the GEN1 vs GEN2 designation it would be perhaps an indicator of "only works with" or "designed for" sort of thing. I'll ponder the idea.

Cool idea...On a related note, we now have a Resource feature where Members can create helpful resources for everyone...It can be a compatible parts list, a How-To, a guide, instructions, a review etc...Other Members can comment and rate.

Note...I’m still making adjustments but you can check it out here...

No the first linked ones are NOT correct for Gen2, your second link *IS* correct though.

I didn't realize that fuse link I gave was now "unavailable", I just bought them from there last week! :)

As for the floor mats, it's possible the inside mats might work for both. The rear trunk mat, however, will NOT (we have both Gens). The cutout pockets at the rear sides have covers in Gen2 and the Gen2 also has tie-down loops that the factory mat exposes (though aftermarket ones don't it seems).

@RedBaron thanks for the clarification on the tap fuses. Document has been updated I updated the offending item.

would like to find a multi pack / more affordable option for GEN2.

I think these mini low profile would are a fit?

I will also keep a watchful eye on the forum RESOURCES @Antoine mentioned, to see how that formatting works out.

Anyone else run across other glaring errors / problems, let me know. I have started to designate GEN1 / GEN2 when it is not obvious the fitment.

It has been a couple of weeks since this thread got started. The document has been added to the RESOURCES section of the forum and there have been MANY updates for parts references. A bit of clarification on a lot of things. I see random people on the spreadsheet as random times, so people are at least opening the document.

I'd ask if you got a couple minutes to scroll through the document and do a bit of sanity check that would be helpful.

I think the 0w-20 is only for the NA engine, the spreadsheet shows it for 2.5T.

Also, this $9 rearview mount worked great with the radenso Pro M. I used it in conjunction with the suction mount with the suction cups removed. I may have had to drill one hole. Also got mirror wire from ebay, listed for another brand, maybe Cobra.

Too bad Mazda blind spot monitoring is the biggest radar polluter out there. Uses K band that looks like police radar, so very difficult to filter :(

The Cargo Cover on the spreadsheet fits only 2013-2016 (Gen 1). I had looked at that one in the past...still shopping for an OEM that fits Gen 2 that I'm willing to pay for. Landscaping cloth works but is difficult to use when it's windy. :)

$10

Braided Mirror Power Cord w/ Inline Fuse for Cobra Radar Detectors

Worked perfectly, just a few minutes to install.

For the mount I think I used the larger of the two with the threaded stud. Perhaps I had to find a wing nut to fit the threads after drilling an existing hole in the suction mount a little bigger so this would fit through.

plenty of idle time these days so the document got a refresh; resorted things; cleaned up some errors.

lots of good stuff documented for others to find easily. So what odd and ends are missing that took you a long time to find? Share the knowledge.

Of course also in the RESOURCE section of the forum for easy finding.
