Fuel consumption 14.4l/100km!

Hi guys
Just bought a new cx5 akera petrol 2020 two weeks ago. Done 250kms so far just driving mostly 60km an hour in Sydney. Petrol is already at less than 25%. Car came with a full tank. The fuel consumption displays 14.4/100km. The car was advertised as 7.4l/100km. Obviously did not expect that, especially driving in the city. But seems crazy it is double that! Is this normal? Is this just because the car is new? Any advice would be handy.

You must be zoom zooming! I have 450 miles on my car with turbo and the car says 22.6mpg which is around 10l/100km. Next tank will be hand calculated with the Fuelly app. All city.

Ha! I wish. Definitley not zoom zooming, all responsible driving. Which is why I am surprised. 10l/100km is what I would expect

Mileage should improve as the engine is breaking in......hopefully.
Don't drive it too hard just yet. Let the engine settle in.
