Cylinder head: FS2 and FS9 casting, any difference?

The head repair shop told me that the cylinder head off my 2002 Protege5 needs to be repaired. So right now I am trying to find out all the options I have before making any decision.

I saw online that there is a reconditioned cylinder head for sale that's a FS2 casting for about the same price the repair would cost me. So I am wondering if I can just swap it out with my current cylinder head (which says FS9 on it).

I am thinking they are the same since they are both "FS", but just want to see if anyone can confirm that.

different.

i have one but I have swapped out the HLAs and plugged the distributor opening. i think thats it.

I stand corrected.
It was pointed out that the two castings appear to have different intake port designs.
