hey all, Im replacing the clutch and flywheel in my mp5 and Im wondering about something with 2 items on eBay
Ive read the clutch/flywheel is the same in the 2.0l engine all the way back to the MX6/626/probe of '93, up to the '03 Mazda DX/LX ?

if that is true, has anyone used a clutch that was specified for any of those with no problems ?
I ask because 2 items Im looking at are essentially identical, but one lists the clutch as non-compatible with the MP5.

this one says its compatible

this one says it isnt

and as you can see, there is a significant difference in price, which I dont mind paying if it turns out there is some reason they arent the same thing.

Rockauto has some good prices,...

It's even cheaper in the US.

What pcb said. If you want to retain stock feel, then I would get the Exedy Clutch (KMZ08) for $95.79 + $9 shipping from RockAuto. And then the Perfection Flywheel from Advance Auto and use code "TRT37" for $30 off. If you have a local Advance that has it in-stock then you save another $10-$15. Or get your total over $75 for free shipping with the code:

thanks for the replies.
I was looking to go with the HD because Ill be towing a small trailer occasionally, and I tend to start out in 2nd often (not while pulling a trailer) plus, Ive used an HD clutch on another vehicle and I liked the feel of it, a little grippier than stock.
but the prices you've shown me are cheaper for direct fitment and no hassle, so its giving me something to really think about.

i have the exedy on rockauto and a duralast flywheel from autozone and it feels just like stock.
