Boring Daily Build

I use my grinder with a cut-off disk all the time.
I was just cutting sheets of plastic with it today.

Now I’ve just got a stuck nut hanging out

And for the inner tie rod I have no idea what I’m doing and I can’t even loosen the lock nut to adjust the toe or replace the outer end

Does this need to be cut off flat with the sway bar or is that a “flange” on the sway bar? I don’t want to damage the sway bar.

I'm almost positive that the piece showing is part of the stud and not the sway bar.

Do you have any way to turn the nut?
A big vise grip or something?

If that part turns with the nut then you know it's part of the stud.

I have a pair of these.
They work awesome. They clamp right onto a nut or bolt.

They should work for your tie rod too.

I put a wrench on it and even fit a socket on it but couldn’t budge it. Same with the tie rod, I tried putting wrenches on it and tugging a hard as I can and nothing

You can use a breaker bar or a cheater bar for a socket...

You can cheat with wrenches and pliers too but it's kinda sloppy...

It was pretty jank to get a socket on I had to use a u-joint socket and then that was kinking. I’m pretty sure it’s just gonna round. I’ll keep trying... probably just cut that lip off and hope for the best. It’s freezing, 30 degrees with 15 mph wind

You could try cutting the nut off.
If you cut it close, there'll be just a couple of threads left and it might break or unthread.
You could try to turn the last bit with a hammer and chisel.

I guess the grinder with a regular thick grinding disk is your best bet.
It's hard to shave down a surface with a cut-off disk.

Get it nice and hot and it will probably turn...
But the whole stud might just start spinning.

The stud would probably just start spinning.
That's why there's an Allen keyhole in the end of the stud.
To hold it still while you turn the nut but it's useless when everything is seized.

I bent my Allen key into a pretzel, then the end of the stud broke off.
