An interseting idea for a shift knob...

So I LOVE the stock Protege knob, and refuse to part with it. The size, weight, and texture are all perfect for me. Well, on my winter beater, the old knob was getting really worn out. It was all shiny from being used almost 300,000Km, and the numbers were completely worn off the top and the metal bit was scratched.

I got to thinking, how can I "freshen up" the old golf ball knob, and then it hit me - use a golf ball! I cut down a golf ball and hollowed it out to fit where the metal top sat before. Sandblasted the whole knob to remove that shiny look, then ran some pinstripe around the seam, masked the top half and sprayed some clear.

I wouldnt do this in my red Pro, but for the winter beater I thought it was a clever idea. Couldn't find any logos that would fit before I cleared, I know someone's gonna ask! :)

What do you think?

Really creative. I've been trying to find crazy objects to turn into shift knobs. Cool idea.
