Amplifier location?

Where is the stereo amplifier located for a 2015 CX-9 Touring? Repair manual said it’s behind the passenger tail light, Mazda dealership says it’s under the passenger chair. It’s not in either spot. I also checked behind the driver side tail light and behind the glovebox. Any other suggestions? I really don’t want to tear the car apart in hopes of randomly finding it

Depending on the head unit you might not have one. Usually located under passenger seat

Hi. If you have the Bose system, It's located on the passenger side behind the 3rd row seat in an alcove inside the interior trim panels. You need to take out the 3rd row seat, interior trim panels on the passenger side of the trunk. Then it's inside an alcove on a mounting plate under the window between the C and D pillars.

I opened up that side panel, and there’s just an empty space where the amplifier should be

Yeah I didn’t find it under the passenger seat. Is it common to not have an amplifier at all?

Do you have the Bose System with Navigation?

No, it is not a Bose system and there is no navigation

OK. Then I don't know. There may not be a separate amplifier.
