2016 Tailgate Bulb Replacement

New to the forum, excited to learn from everyone here and to contribute!

I replaced the interior bulbs (vanity mirrors, front and center overhead lights) with LEDs recently, but now I'm encountering trouble accessing and changing out the bulb on the tailgate. I don't have the right and left interior cargo lights present, only a single rectangular panel on the interior of the tailgate. I'm able to pop out the cover panel to the right edge of it to get inside of the tailgate itself, but didn't want to force the issue by breaking something accidentally.

Has anyone had experience changing this particular bulb by any chance? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I think the CX-9 cargo light is similar. Only difference is that on the 2016 CX-5, the bulb and lens comes out together, while only the lens comes off on the CX-9. https://www.mazdas247.com/forum/sho...ion-CX-9-Cargo-light-bulb-replacement-upgrade
