    Disable Cylinder Deactivation

lol perhaps, or you could just be imagining things. Sounds more like torque converter lockup to me

What did you pay for your CX-5?

A “good” deal (not great) would be 10% of msrp minus rebates. So if the car is 33k msrp, I’d want at least 3k off and then another 1250 rebate before fees. So yeah I’d say you should be able to do better.

    Disable Cylinder Deactivation

Same here...I haven’t been able to tell and I’ve tried. Wish our ‘19 had the display that shows when CD active like the later cars. If nobody told me about the CD, I’d never know our cx5 had it.

2017~2024 Rear Door bent, doesn't close fully. Repairs, what to expect?

Yup, file a claim. And if your rate goes up a little at renewal, raising deductible will counteract the increase.

Dangerous cylinder deactivation trouble on 2018 CX-5 and Mazda6 models

‘19 touring that got CD software update around 6k...now at 39k miles. No problems at all. Enjoy your new car!

    2017~2024 AWD versus FWD

To answer OP, awd model has a shorter final drive. So higher rpm for same speed/gear as fwd, and therefore more engine braking.

Simplified. What percentage off the CX-5 sticker?

Generally, 10% off sticker minus any incentives is a really good deal

    Show me your CX-5 wheels

Love the clean 5 spoke look of the pf05...just couldn’t bring myself to spend the dough and went with rx8’s. Great choice!

    2017~2024 Are 255/55R18 PS4s on a CX-5 Turbo a bad idea?

I had them powder coated and yes they’re super easy to clean. Running 235/60/18 tires that barely clear the front struts, but no spacers, rings, etc. They bolt right up with stock lugs as if they came factory

    2017~2024 Are 255/55R18 PS4s on a CX-5 Turbo a bad idea?

You’ll be fine with that size tire with lower offset wheel. Need to find a pic, but we’ve got powder coated rx8 wheels on our ‘19 at only 21 lbs per wheel. Benefit to these wheels is they are the same centerbore (so no centering rings) and can use stock lug nuts. 50mm offset would necessitate...

Trim or option regrets after purchasing

Touring with package is the best value...it’s what we bought for that very reason. That being said, would have bought a GTR or Sig if given the chance to redo.

Love the CX-5, hate the seats...Any way to make them better?

msrp on these new is pretty up there. Even cpo isn’t as cheap as I’d like but that’s because the new “age of the suv”. My cousin bought a cpo ‘18 s90 sedan (57k msrp) with 20k miles for $30k a few months ago: a comparable msrp/year/mileage xc90 would run over $40k. So if you don’t have to have...

Love the CX-5, hate the seats...Any way to make them better?

yup...planning on air suspension bc of the 10 yr/unlimited mile cpo warranty extension, which weirdly covers air suspension but not regular shocks. And the air suspension has a much nicer ride as well as height adjustability

Love the CX-5, hate the seats...Any way to make them better?

Went and test drove a cx9 signature, and though it drove quite nice, the seats felt about the same as our cx5. Then drove a couple xc90’s and think mind is made up. Going to hang on the the cx5 until the right cpo Volvo turns up (‘17-18 t6 awd inscription with air suspension).

    Deactivate airbags?

Air bags are only redundant if you in a caged car with proper harnesses and a helmet.

Love the CX-5, hate the seats...Any way to make them better?

Sat in a gtR a few months ago during a service, and they felt slightly better but not enough to warrant an expensive swap. The more I think about it, the seats are still bad as a driver but tolerable. The only time the seats really bother me is as a front seat passenger.
