Thank you. This really was meant to be a "gee, I can't believe that this car didn't come with...."Just a reminder to keep threads on topic, please...Remember, this one is called "Disappointments / missing things in your CX-5?"

- 360 camera, (I know the Signature has it) but the camera on GTR is so old school. At least add the trajectory!
Speaking only about the Signature Trim, I am 3 weeks in and here are my thoughts.
Shocking that Mazda sees themselves as a premium brand and their "Signature" car does not have remote start. I bought a 2014 Ford Focus that had it, why can't an almost $40K Mazda have it? The retractable car cover should also come included. I should not have to go out and buy something that most every other car comes with after writing such a big check.
Not trolling...just seeking clarification...
What is a "retractable car cover"?
TIA!

Lol y’all have fun with your foil hats. Just be sure to stay out of the sun and watch out for those 5G cell towers.
You could put LED bulbs in to help with this issue. They are much brighter and use a lot less energy so less of an issue with drain.Don't equate my dislike of overly connected services and insurance companies spying on my driving habits via phone apps all in the name of saving money on jacked up rates in recent years to being a tin-foil 5g cell nutjob.
Anyway, I was thinking about it the other day. Pretty sure my dome light in my 1998 Jeep GC would turn itself off if I accidentally left it on. My CX-5 definitely does not and will just drain the battery. So that is one things that would have been nice. I've gotten better about it, but I definitely accidentally leave the dome light on over nights or days (since C-19 kept me at home most of the time) periodically and had to jump start my battery.
One of the very first things I changed on the car. Only a few dollars to change the bulbs in the front and rear, and they are much better than the incadescent bulbs. The bulb is a DE3175. https://www.ebay.com (commissions earned)

Sorry, I should have typed "Retractable Cargo Cover"
I blame it on my FFS (fat finger syndrome)
I agree. I just came from several Hondas that had capless fillers. It's nice not to have to unscrew a cap, carefully place it into the holder so it doesn't bang against the paint and dent or scratch it, then screw it back on and remember to tighten it properly. Yeah, it only saves like 10 seconds of my life at each fill-up, but it's a small thing that is very convenient. I miss it on my MX-5 and CX-5.
But I have 2 things that bothered me since day 1
- Simple trip computer. Something I can measure how far and how long i've driven in a span of time that can be reset as I need it. I'm stuck using a phone app (need it for work logs)
