2013~2016 Do I also need to change the tensioner when changing belts?

Hi,

I have a 2013 cx5 that I plan to have the engine belts changed. Is it also good to replace its tensioner? Mileage is 115,000 km.

If it is leaking, yes. If not, the new one may not be as good as the 2013. A spring keeps the tension, a built in oil shock stops vibration.

And there’re 2 belts that can be replaced at the same time to save the labor cost. One serpentine belt for alternator and AC compressor. The other stretch belt for water pump.

Yes. See attached picture in this recent post.

My second CX5 and my second belt tensioner leak at 43000 miles, so much for their improvement over the previous one.
