I used Dupli-color wheel paint on my play toy's wheels with great results. The color is graphite.View attachment 181324

Did you do the full wheel and take the tires off or just mask the tires and paint the front?

I had the wheels off for new tires so I did front and back. I went back to silver the next year but didn't remove the tires. I deflated them and taped off the tire.(I went back to the stock style wheels the next year. Crazy, huh?) [

My P5 wheels will get paint as soon as the weather gets nicer.

Nice 911, and the wheels look very nice between stock and graphite. It really made a difference.

And im going to have to wait till its nice out for once, to try and paint them.. just trying to get ideas for now.

Therefore, as of now, its between graphite ( or gunmetal as was one of my beginning ideas) and bronze/gold.

Saw somebody's Canadian car on here with stockers painted black or graphite on the spokes but the lip around the outside was left silver. Silver center caps too. It looked really good.

Duplicolor makes a wheel paint thats pretty reasonably priced, or you could go and get them powder coated

I used the Dupli-color wheel paint in Graphite for the 911 and it worked great. I didn't even clear coat them as I wanted a matte finish. You can get it at Meijer or just about any auto store. I would figure to get 3 cans which should be plenty for 4 wheels. Scuff the wheels lightly, mask, and then use lights coats. I found the trick is to let each coat dry completely before another is applied.(I'm usually not that patient but it does seem to work.)

Just started a stock wheel project. I have a set of 2002 wheels and a set of 2003 wheels. Had them both media blasted and im down to bare aluminum. The first set is getting masked and the spokes are going to be bronze, the lip raw aluminum (all clear coated). Not sure what Im going to try with the other set.

i painted them with duplicolor wheel graphite 2 coats and the a couple of clear. masking was the hard part.
