So I'm more of a new member here...I signed up a while ago and made a couple post about getting my MS3 but stopped after that. I ran into a member on another forum a lil while ago so it sparked up my interest again so I'm posting up pics of both my cars. I have the MS3 as a DD and am now gonna show you guys the weekend car. It's been down for about 4 months because I decided to twin turbo it!

In this thread I'll post up some pics of the car and how it used to be and also post up pictures as the progress on the car continues and as I receive all the parts necessary to finish it off. I have almost every single thing I need to get it finished, just waiting on some powder coating and stuff like that! So tell me what you guys think! I know a lot of tuner guys aren't into the muscle cars..but you gotta lover the sound of the muscley V8 along with the sweet sound of turbos spooling!

In the beginning I bought the car with 20,000 miles on it back in January of 2006. Got a steal on it and it already had a magnaflow catback on it and a Steeda ram air intake. Right away I hit the ground running and started the mods...beginning with the interior. I threw in a three-pod pillar with autometer cobalt gauges...air-fuel ratio, boost, and oil temperature.

I threw in an MGW short-throw shifter, and put the 10th anniversary shift boot and knob on as well. I painted my interior panels, and since I was a car audio installer I threw in the alpine IVA-D310 flip out in dash stereo with Infinity Kappa components all around and my Rockford P3 12" sub with my amp and capacitor in a custom box I made.

I then threw in 10,000k HID headlights and foglights

I lowered the car, threw on new 17" wheels, a CDC light bar, and smoked the tail-lights

Well driving around with 400rwhp is really fun, but I wanted more power after having that on for a couple months. So I sent the blower out to Steigemeier and had them do a stage 4 port on it as well as port the throttle body and plenum. I bought a 2.93 upper pulley and ilders from billetflow, a 4lb lower crank pulley, new intercooler and radiator tanks, and a new larger heat exchanger (it looks like an intercooler and sits in the lower grille of our cars). I had a custom dyno tune and had the boost at 17psi and put out 509rwhp and 507rwtq!

At this point I loved the exhaust sound...loud when I got on it but still partially soft and had a good sound when driving normal. I decided I wanted that mean loud muscle car sound all the time though, so I cut off the regular magnaflow mufflers and had magnaflow magnapacks welded in and it sounded SO sick! here's what it sounds like:

Having all that power was awesome, but 6 months down the road I wanted more. So I sold the blower and a couple other parts and bought a Whipple 2.3L twin screw supercharger, 315-18-30 BFG Drag Radials, 60lb injectors, a 2lb lower crank pulley, a SCT BA2600 MAF, a accufab single blade throttle body, and smoked headlights. I had it all put on and put out 17lbs again and made 586rwhp and 567rwtq! This was insaneee. BTW, don't mind the ugly stock tensioner pulley, I took those pics when I was trying to find a squeaking idler and used the stock on to see if that was the one squeaking.

At this point I wanted to start taking it to the track...so I started doing weight modifications. I yanked everythinggg out of the trunk. I sold the upgraded speakers and deck I had in the car and returned that all to stock and took out the sub. I then yanked out all the seats inside, threw in a rear seat delete kit and bought some corbeau TRS racing seats and threw those in as well. While I was at it I got bored of the silver interior pieces so i painted those black to match the car and I have no also taken out the light bar so I can throw a roll cage in later! I also bought some 18x10.5" wheels and sold the 17s so I could throw on the 315 drag radials!

So I had the whipple on for about 6 months and since the car was a weekend car I only put about 500miles on it. Well a little bit ago my water pump and oil cooler went out...so I wanted to make sure it wasn't my head gasket either...so I had the engine yanked, and while it was out I decided to go ahead with what I always wanted to do to the car....twin turbo it! So I sold the whipple and ALL the parts I had purchased before and bought an HP 57mm twin turbo kit. I bought the 2001 cobra parts needed for the twin turbo kit as well. I will be updating as things get going further and when I get more parts.

Here is what the turbo kit is going to look like when it's all done! The turbos mount right behind the bumper where the air inlet is on both sides...and the BOV's (yes two) placement is soo SICK!

So I have the whole turbo kit sitting in my garage right now:

This last friday I went to the powder coaters and picked up a ton of my parts that I had done. I pretty much have all the parts I need...send the heads off to get resurfaced and put some nice felpro head gaskets and ARP head studs on the engine. It's all flat black..All I'm waiting on is the brackets for the alternator, the coil covers, the throttle body, and the belt tensioner. Here you see the 2001 cobra upper and lower intake (the 03/04 twin turbo cobras utilize the 01 cobra intakes), the valve covers, timing cover, all the cold side piping, coolant crossover tube and the Vortech hard pipe!

Well after a LONG ass wait and a bunch of bulls*** I had to deal everything is finally here...

If you would like to hear some of the s*** I went through and why it has taken so long I can let you guys know, but I know some don't care at all, so unless you guys wanna hear about the setbacks I won't list them haha.

So the LAST part I needed were the turbo headers (part of the fiasco) and they showed up on my doorstep this morning! I am towing the cobra to my tuner on Friday and he will begin putting EVERYTHING together on Monday of the next week! I'm SO stoked!! This has taken a lottt of time and a lott of money but it def will be worth it!

He JUST picked the engine up yesterday and put it together, sent me this pic...cell phone pic sorry...felpro head gaskets with alll APR hardware:

Here's a couple other parts I ordered as well:
