So I'm more of a new member here...I signed up a while ago and made a couple post about getting my MS3 but stopped after that. I ran into a member on another forum a lil while ago so it sparked up my interest again so I'm posting up pics of both my cars. I have the MS3 as a DD and am now gonna show you guys the weekend car. It's been down for about 4 months because I decided to twin turbo it!
In this thread I'll post up some pics of the car and how it used to be and also post up pictures as the progress on the car continues and as I receive all the parts necessary to finish it off. I have almost every single thing I need to get it finished, just waiting on some powder coating and stuff like that! So tell me what you guys think! I know a lot of tuner guys aren't into the muscle cars..but you gotta lover the sound of the muscley V8 along with the sweet sound of turbos spooling!
In the beginning I bought the car with 20,000 miles on it back in January of 2006. Got a steal on it and it already had a magnaflow catback on it and a Steeda ram air intake. Right away I hit the ground running and started the mods...beginning with the interior. I threw in a three-pod pillar with autometer cobalt gauges...air-fuel ratio, boost, and oil temperature.
I threw in an MGW short-throw shifter, and put the 10th anniversary shift boot and knob on as well. I painted my interior panels, and since I was a car audio installer I threw in the alpine IVA-D310 flip out in dash stereo with Infinity Kappa components all around and my Rockford P3 12" sub with my amp and capacitor in a custom box I made.
I then threw in 10,000k HID headlights and foglights
I lowered the car, threw on new 17" wheels, a CDC light bar, and smoked the tail-lights
Well driving around with 400rwhp is really fun, but I wanted more power after having that on for a couple months. So I sent the blower out to Steigemeier and had them do a stage 4 port on it as well as port the throttle body and plenum. I bought a 2.93 upper pulley and ilders from billetflow, a 4lb lower crank pulley, new intercooler and radiator tanks, and a new larger heat exchanger (it looks like an intercooler and sits in the lower grille of our cars). I had a custom dyno tune and had the boost at 17psi and put out 509rwhp and 507rwtq!
At this point I loved the exhaust sound...loud when I got on it but still partially soft and had a good sound when driving normal. I decided I wanted that mean loud muscle car sound all the time though, so I cut off the regular magnaflow mufflers and had magnaflow magnapacks welded in and it sounded SO sick! here's what it sounds like:

Having all that power was awesome, but 6 months down the road I wanted more. So I sold the blower and a couple other parts and bought a Whipple 2.3L twin screw supercharger, 315-18-30 BFG Drag Radials, 60lb injectors, a 2lb lower crank pulley, a SCT BA2600 MAF, a accufab single blade throttle body, and smoked headlights. I had it all put on and put out 17lbs again and made 586rwhp and 567rwtq! This was insaneee. BTW, don't mind the ugly stock tensioner pulley, I took those pics when I was trying to find a squeaking idler and used the stock on to see if that was the one squeaking.
