Wheels and Tires

Has anybody here put 18s on a Mazda 3 yet?

I'd be very interested in seeing the work and how it looks overall.

Also, would also like to hear what tires and wheels that yall like and love.

the 18s from the rx8 have been put on the 3 already.

I chose Sumimoto HRTZ II 225/40x18 not a problem to fit, actually quieter and rides better than the standard 17" Bridgestones (noisy as) and handles brilliantly with a little oversteer when pushing hard... RED SP23

Hell, there's even a guy in NC who put 19s on his 3. (headshake

There appears to be enough room, although you'd have to go real low-pro on the tire.

I'd have to say my current favorite upgrade is the RX-8 18"s on the 3. Mazda should make them an option.

can you say bike tire?

"I only have to inflate it to 80 PSI!"

ironically, when comparing to all the 2000/2001 jetta's floating around atlanta, the 17" rims already make the tires look ridiculously low profile.

Seriously lo-pro. Like a 35-series. That WAY too thin for Michigan roads.

i just out reaction 10 spoke hyperblack 18x7.5 with 225 40 on my winning blue 3...looks bad azz. and rides awsome

I bet you could escape with a 40, then again, w/o lowering it, but 19"s with stock suspension? Laughable. If I actually change my rims, 18 will be as big as I go....oh man it's tempting to push it to 19 though.

#1: Those aren't tires, they're Tweels.
#2: They most definitely aren't low-profile. The sidewall is like four inches tall!

Interesting "twheel" concept from Michelin, tire&wheel all in one... no air! Tires of the future.

Yeah, it was actually designed by the guy that made the Segway Human Transporter.

Rememebr what a big hit that was?
