Hi,

Your 15861 cat-back for the 2004 Mazda3 has been listed as "coming soon" for at least four months, now. Do you have any information on when it will actually be available?
Thanks.

Them:
We are making a kit for this vehicle. However we are running a little behind on production so you could expect to see this kit in about 30 days. Thanks for your interest in Magnaflow.

I wonder if he's related to ol' Slobodan... (silly)

At least they're consistent!

That's what I got on Tuesday.

Now I'm just wondering if I should wait for the fabled Mazdaspeed exhaust in 12-18 months...

Just sent another letter:

Hi,
Your 15861 system for the Mazda 3 has been listed as "Coming Soon" for about 6 months, now. I asked you about it back in June and your response was:

It's been 60 days since that correspondence. Are you really releasing a system or is like a Yeti where there are rumors that it exists but no concrete proof?

If you guys get this thing out, you'll still be the first on the market and will probably have a lot of sales!

Saw that. I don't think any Mazdaspeed parts for the 3 will be released before the Mazdaspeed3 itself is released, though.

(dunno)

You just never know, though.

Well, I have to give them credit. They at least respond to e-mail in a timely manner.

Hello Kane,

That system is scheduled for release towards the end of the year. We will update our website as soon as it becomes available. Thank you for your interest and support in Magnaflow Performance.

PS. The reason why its taking so long to produce the system is because the Yeti recently attacked the truck transporting the materials. This unfortunately has halted production.

Ahhh... I knew there was a good reason, thanks.

I'll pass along this excuse... err... I mean correspondence to the eagerly-awaiting Mazda3 forum. If you're so inclined, you can pay us a visit at www.mazdaIII.com.

Maybe you guys should get some Yeti insurance or something.

There are a whole wack of parts listed on the Corksport website, including an AutoEXE exhaust system.... for $689!!

Yep. Seen those, too. Corksport prices are outrageous.
AutoEXE prices are even worse. Put them together and it's a lose-lose situation.

I'd rather make a custom system from a high-flow cat and a Flowmaster for about 1/3 the cost of that AutoEXE system.

Corksport prices are not outrageous, but the speciatly product line prices are (they don't make those themselves, they simply carry them).

Corksport prices are excellent.
We had a group buy for DP back exhausts. 2.4" SS, 3.5" muffler tip, $330. It doesn't get ANY better than that. For $330, I could have bought just an HKS muffler. But at CS, $330 can buy the whole system! :D

just wanted to clear that up ;)

Ok, I'll clarify:

Corksport prices on stuff for the 3 are outrageous. I figured since this was posted on the 3 forum, I wouldn't have to differentiate.

damn protege owners... *grumble*

It does and it doesn't.

It sucks that we don't have many bolt-ons but it's cool because we get to use our imagination and dream up new and exciting combinations of things.

Just because something is available doesn't mean you have to run right out and buy it.

At least if it's there, you know how much you have to save up to get it.

yeah.. but as soon as i have a few hundred.. i know what's in line, and POOF, gone.
i suppose it's just my perception of 'as you go' vs. 'in one shot'... bigger effect if you save up a few grand and buy a whole whack of things at the same time

hehe.. i'm slowly learning that one - but i don't like it :p
i do have my priorities - hence why my college class gets paid vs. buying a header (i actually considered that one)
